personally i like both-- even if madonna's track is a slight ripoff of nicola roberts 'beat of my drum'--- M.I.A should have been showcased more than nicki.

M.I.A's bad girls was the best track off 'vicki leekx'-- curious what her new release in the summer will sound like----

That M.I.A. video is hot. If Madonna is going to work with her, she should be doing more edgy stuff like that.

I really like both of these videos and records. I like M.I.A.'s the best. BIG FAN. I'm just SOOO sad Nicki Minaj's ass didn't make an appearance in the MDNA video.

The Madonna song seems to lack a natural flow and the video is quirky and to much flashback to her roots. I was hoping the song would really get into a rythm but it left me flat. Maybe it will grow on me.

To be fair, is there a female celebrity these days who hasn't benefited from airbrushing? I'm not even sure it has anything to do with age.

I think she looks great in the new video. And not that much different from her most recent SNL appearance, where there was no airbrushing.

Madonna looks awesome in this video. Way better than the skinny drag queen look she took on with her last tour

I like the song. Madonna obviously wants to be relevant on todays charts so she is going to put in her artists who are currently hot, so while its not reflecting her age I think this song actually is much more Madonna's style with some guest rapping. With Timberland and Timberlake, that was not Madonna's type of music at all, it sounded forced.

I will say though the LUV Madonna part is hideous, there really is no reason for that.

Looks like the vid was made with the Super Bowl performance in mind and I expect a similar type performance on Sunday with football players, hopefully shirtless, I would want jockstrap but we wont get that until maybe her tour..lol

The true test of Madonna's success like it has been with her last 3 cds is how the 2nd single does. She has had hits with the first releases but then radio and pop culture shuns her next releases no matter how good they may be, they dont even give them chances, so lets see what happens here.

I think Masterpiece should be released as a single

Oh my, you've done your research! No there is nothing wrong with ageing - nor is there anything wrong with trying to hide it. This is media/pop culture. I wouldn't be opposed to having my ads or music videos airbrushed.
We shouldn't be so hung up on wrinkles and the natural process of ageing.
Maturity and experience, in my opinion, can be quite sexy and I happen to think older women, in many ways, have a lot more going for them than most younger, awkward and inexperienced younger women in which the only thing they may have going for them are cute looks - so what?

Oscardude9 saidAlthough not a huge fan, I disagree. She may be in her 50s, but Madonna can still shake it to boot and I think it suits her just fine. Call her a sexy old bag - I think she looks HOT!

Okay, do you think she still looks hot before the airbrushing?

And don't get me wrong, I have nothing against aging. Just don't go through the process of hiding it to project a false image.

How do you know these originals are authentic? They may also be photoshopped.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidI'm not into Madonna perpetuating this younger image that, in my opinion, does not suit her at all. She's fifty-three years old for crying out loud! She's trying to dress and move like someone half her age. Did anyone noticed how slightly blurred the camera lens was when it went close up into Madonna's face? It also was very quick moving and shaky. But it was much sharper and more still when focused on the black rap artist. Because obviously she's much younger and doesn't need any camera tricks.

The song isn't all that bad. But she's perpetuating this much younger than necessary image. I'm sure it has to do with attracting a younger demographic so as to be more marketable and profitable. I wonder when and if she will allow her singing and image style to reflect her age and not go through a shitload of special camera effects to hide the wrinkles and signs of a middle aged person. Because, really there's nothing wrong with age and growing older.

She's in her 50s, she's not 90, you don't have to look like a prune when you're 50. This is what the new 50s look like, Demi Moore, Courteney Cox, Madonna, all looking like women in their 20s, who's looking forward to looking older? If you say you are, you're lying because no one wants to look awful.

These are not average everyday women in their 50s. icon_rolleyes.gif

These are celebrities, movie stars, with unlimited amounts of money for a perfect diet, for a personal trainer, for the best skin creams, best plastic surgeons, etc.

This Madonna bitch is not aging gracefully at all.
I mean even her boyfriends are like half her age.

Face it, Madge, you're old and over the hill. Give it up already bitch and let someone else come along. Like, why are u even still relevant?

I agree that Madonna's bad plastic has finally been fixed and or settled, so she looks more like herself. The photos above from the aborted Hard Candy photoshoot...which led her to her second major facelift (after the one she had during her "horse riding accident")...are what pushed her to get the facelift in early 2008 when she then reappeared at that Gucci benefit looking frozen stiff!

As for her singles and radio play...thing are different now than in 2003-2010. Thanks to Madonna's connections to Live Nation, a company which just bought a 20% stake in Clear Channel, Madonna should have little trouble getting airplay this time around. After the political backlash of the American Life video, Clear Channel banned Madonna, same as they did Janet in 2004. Her new single basically debuted worldwide on Clear Channel stations today, something that hasn't happened with her in a LONG time. Interscope and Live Nation are laying all this ground work to ensure they make the big bucks where Madonna's REAL revenue is: a massive world tour that will launch in the spring/summer and likely go into 2013. If the album does well, if the singles are hits, the videos get people talking, Madonna does new things like the Super Bowl and perhaps some more tv than she's done since the late 90s...she could potentially have an amazingly successful tour.

bwahahaha. this post just makes me laugh. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, so i apologize if I am . But the tone of this is just so, um, bitter and angry towards the fact that Madonna IS still rocking it out and IS still relevant and IS still getting alot of attention, 30 years after she first appeared on the scene. "Let someone else come along". Oh, she's let PLENTY come along, but few, if any, of them have been able to outlast her.

    Madonna is fascinating.
i admire the phenomenon - especially since there's nothing under the phenomenon.
It's like Celine..if by some misfortune i find myself watching her , my brain overheats trying to understand .
But i find the groupies lucky. Must be nice to admire something so meaningless .

I don't care what anyone says, I don't care how uncool it makes me, I think Madonna is true rock n roll, and she seems to pull EVERYTHING off, even the whole cougar shtick. I think she's just an easy target for people becuz she's not a sympathetic "OMG POOR THING" like Michael Jackson (yeah I went there) or a saccharine, fake kiss-ass like Lady Gaga. Yeah I went there too.

She doesn't seem to care much what people think and she doesn't really go out of her way to make people love her, and I respect that. And collaborating with Nicki Minaj and MIA is way better than that awful phag Justin Timberlake in my book - thank god those days are over. At least those 2 girls have talent.

She takes good care of herself and didn't fuck with her face too much - that could ALSO be why she looks good. The majority of americans don't do that. Perhaps that's why Madonna sticks out like a sore thumb. The girl may be 53 but that body is the result of being an ATHLETE. You can't plastic-surgery a body.

There is nothing meaningless about Madonna. She's one of the most, if not THE most, successful female solo artists in pop music history. She played a huge part, along with Michael Jackson, in revolutionizing music through music video. Madonna has been a HUGE supporter of the gay community. Most importantly, Madonna has stood the all important test of time. While so many imitators have come and gone, Madonna remains a true icon, and one of the most recognizable artists on the planet. They did not pick Madonna to play The Super Bowl, one of the biggest worldwide audiences of any event on earth, because she is "meaningless".

Give me a few examples of Artist you'd say have something "meaning"ful "under the surface", please. I just want to see your point of view.
