Okay so I'm trying to cut down on my BF%. I'm 5 foot 11 and weigh 150 pounds right now. I swim/run at least three times a week and I've been working out for a little over a month now (not too serious, but I do go 4 times a week). I eat about 1600-1800 calories a day but my weight has only gone up by 4 pounds since then.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm not "thin" because I have enough belly fat to cover my abs. I eat three times a day and it's not junk food. I should be losing weight...but I'm not. I have no idea why. Any ideas? Is it just my slow metabolism?

Heavier strength training (with hard leg days) and eat more. Don't worry about %bf now.

Don't stop strength training. But, I think you will see the quickest results in cardio.

    I struggled with plateaus.

In cardio, distance and speed do not affect weight loss as much as incline.

Slow down to 3mph but at 10-15 incline, you'll be sweating from every pour in your skin and the calorie guess-o-meter will reward you handsomely.

After building leg and glute strength, I'm able to cover 3 miles in an hour at 12-15 and "burn" close to 700 calories, twice as before when I was running 5mph on a flat incline.

genetics. keep at it. it'll just be harder to get what you want

but wtf, you are 5'11 and weigh 150 pounds...you definitely have to be thin. i'm 20-30 pounds heavier than you, only one inch taller and i'm very thin, so...i don't know what your standards are
