So I have a few Abdominal surguries that were fairly evasive. I have huge scar that runs up and down my belly. the tissue is not flexible and the Scars run to the abdominal muscles. So my question is does anyone have experience with scars and how they heal and ultimatly how to work out with out causing undue stress on the scar tissue.

I <3 my abdominal scars. They add character. Perfect skin implies a boring life.

Refreshing to hear that... sometimes I feel guilty for not looking like an Avon poster girl. icon_eek.gif

Agree with the above. Scars are often hot.

I have a hernia surgery scar from when I was 4 that's barely visible these days -- especially when I let my pubes grow out.

Went to the dermatologist once and while he was looking me over he mumbled, "Yeah, you have some battle scars." Happens.

You can massage pure shea butter into the scar about 2-3 times a day. Not that crap that cosmetic companies sell in a store. Buy the 100% stuff, which you can often find at flea markets that many cities hold every weekend or every month. If you know some Africans.. (Maybe someone from Ghana, Nigeria, etc.) ask them if they know where you might be able to find it. If you hate the scar then you can probably have it surgically removed or maybe reduced. With scars, as well as anything else on your body that you feel uneasy about.. (big foreheads, chins, ears, moles, extra digits) you can either fix it or flaunt it. icon_smile.gif i have a scar on my side that i got from being gored by a rampaging bull.. (really it's from a sharp tree limb, but bull sounds better).. I flauntd it for a while but now it's fixed icon_smile.gif

I wouldn't really say I find them "hot" but I also don't think they are a problem at all. Life happens.

I don't worry about it. I've had it since I can remember and it makes me who I am and it saved my life. Plus it's sexy when a guy runs his tongue along it.

Try the Aloe Vera plant, the real thing. Purchase one, and take care of it - the application is fairly simple, break the leave in half which will produce a clear gelatin liquid from the plant leaf and apply to the wound - it has anti-inflammatory properties as well as minimize scars of the skin.

My brother had a terrible biking accident when he was 5 or 6 and hit his eyelid socket area in a garage door, the scar was really bad. My mother every night regardless of his screaming that he did not want any part of it - always got a good measure of it in his eye skin area, even until the wound closed. She continued to apply it for several weeks until the wound was healed and new skin resurfaced. Needless to say that the scar healed great and now years later is not even noticeable.
