I've lost 40 pounds! Cereal for breakfast and peanut butter sandwich for lunch no in between meal snacks. A light dinner. One can never excercise enough to lose weight....just to tone up!

    Chasersprize,

Tell us a little more. Was it just the taco bell? What did your week look like completely in terms of eating and exercise?

    Thanks,

Most fat folks (NOT REAL JOCKS) eat junk; eat it at the wrong time of day; medicate with food; lack self-discipline.

6 pounds could be a healthy dump, and a couple of glasses of water. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Resistance exercise is the only exercise that increases your lean muscle mass (and your base metabolic rate) as you grow older. YOU MUST DO RESISTANCE exercise unless you plan on starvation.

    See a good trainer.

Read everything you can on nutrition.

Take the ball and go with it.

Do cardio (interval training is best, but, hardest, for fat folks), at LEAST three times a week. Your goal should be to hit your target heart rate for at least a hour per week.

    Chucky,

Interesting words of wisdom, but how do you know they even apply to him? You're making a lot of generalizations there about "fat folks". I'd say lets hear what has been going with him and THEN make some suggestions.

Of course, you're free to do what you want, but I'm really looking forward to hearing more about what's going on with him before making suggestions.

P.S.: the generalization about "real jocks" works the same as for "fat folks". Most jocks I know make individual choices regarding eating and exercise specific to their goals. It's important for us not to generalize, I'd say.

Call me selfish, but, I want you to inspire me, chasersprize. I love success stories. You've had a teensy weensy setback, maybe. The next time you're sweating, remind yourself that that's the real taste of taco bell, not the stuff you taste when you first bite into it.

Yes... no more Taco Bell EVER!

That shit is GARBAGE. It's not even food man. :)

Oh, and it looks like you're saying you gained POINT 6 pounds, which doesn't really count as gaining... it's a negligible fluctuation. Hang in there.

I once heard Bill Clinton talk about how he gave up junk food and lost all that weight, and his answer was so simple and true. He said:

"Eat less, eat better, exercise more."

Hey! Taco Bell is food. :) It's damn good, too. But you have to reserve it for rare instances, or not at all, if you can't control yourself. :)

Actually, it was POINT 6, not six pounds. If I gained six pounds I would need to be medicated.

Seriously though. I know it's not a lot, and it probably wasn't the Taco Bell. It was a rough week altogether.

Taco Bell is dog food most (sane) people wouldn't feed to their dogs! The only time it's acceptable is when you're too drunk at that point to care about what's going into your body.

Six pounds is easy to drop if you eat clean and fresh (not processed) food, up your physical activity slightly, and limit your beverage intake to pure juices/fresh blended juices (you know, from real fruit that you've cut up yourself) and water (though an excess of water may cause you to retain a pound or two, depending on your consumption).

    Good luck!

I agree with colmdublin and JonnyFreestyle: 0.6 pounds is easily within normal daily weight fluctuation.

8oz of water weighs about 0.5 lbs I think.
