Chest Hair: Hot or not

I'm naturally a very hair guy, however due to the common attraction to the "smooth" look, I shave every day. Shaving creates a new problem..dense stubble, meaning I -really- have to shave every day, sometimes twice a day if I plan on being entirely smooth. Stubble sucks, apprently hair sucks too. So, what are you guys attracted to? Is frontal body hair so bad?

I prefer smooth both on me and other guys. There are some guys (like Chris Evans and Ryan Reynolds) who look damn sexy with chest hair though. What I don't like to see is super long chest hair popping out above a shirt collar--that just gives me the willies.

    totally depends on the guy.

That said, I'm naturally smooth, and really wish I had more chest hair. The BF is a bit hairy. I remember when I was in college, I always tried to sit behind one particular guy who had lots of fur on his back. That was way hot to me.

Thanks for the responses. it does seem that the majority prefer smooth. I've thought of trying clippers, however it seems a lot more complicated than shaving, you know, getting it just right lol.

hairy rocks!! Hate it when guys wax, shave or laser off thier hair. Manscaping is good if you have strange hair patterns and to keep unbushy

I am to smooth! I barely have pit or pubic hair and I think hair is hot! I hate it when guys shave ANY part of their body especially in the lower region! I think its totally hot!

So YES to hairy chests! Bring it on!
    (I like smooth to)

this is an old topic i think...

my preference depends on the guy. im wary of saying i like one thing OR another because usually when i do, someone comes along that i find attractive i spite of a set preference like that. but i'd say i love chest stubble- when a guy's shaved it but its kinda growing back in all short- not too into a guy having a bush on his chest- though a bit of hair between a good set of pecs is hot too. i'm mostly only into smooth chests if they're really buff. either way, manliness is a good thing :p

My partner threatened to shave my hairy chest the other day after shaving my head. I ran away! I must admit I have him shave my back, hair on the back is kind of pointless, and not that attractive, at least to me.

Prefer guys who are full-on hairy or who do some selective trimming, but never shaved or waxed, especially when it comes to chests.

I'm into a guy who is confident in what he's got. You've got a hairy chest, sexy boy. Work with it. A great deal of men dream of that ultimate mark of masculinity. Buy a pair of clippers and work with what you've got. I guarantee you'll turn more heads.

I have had guys that i have dated that have had hairy chest and some with smooth chest. i like either. it's the guy i am dating...so if i like him i will like his chest-hairy or smooth. i had a great friend of mine who was dating this girl and she wanted him to shave his chest hair off or she wouldn't date him anymore. i told him to drop her. the guy had a great body and the chest hair was awesome on him. i couldn't imagine him shaving it just to date a girl who was that shallow. bottom line is he kept the chest hair and dated someone else;-)

I like a guy with hair, especially if it's well kept. You're a nice looking guy and with or without hair you're going to attract guys. It's more your/there personality than your hair that will be the deciding factor. I think you'd look great with a hairy chest, wish you had a pic to compare! Shaving seems like way too much work, just be who you are, keep it neat and you'll be fine.

Yeah, it's an old topic, but one I haven't investigated yet and didn't until recently decide I spend too much money on fusion razor blades lol.
At any rate, thanks for all of the responses again. It's been helpful, I reckon I'll try and work the hairy chest for a while and see what happens, heh.

I could be strange for thinking this, but to me it almost depends on the guy's age. To my eye, a guy in his late teens to late 20s usually looks pretty good with a smooth chest. Better than having a hairy chest. But as a guy gets into his 30s, a smooth chest looks a little out of place.

I think many guys who shave their chest do it to try to seem younger.

Well I'm a very hairy chested guy, so if I don't like it, I'd probably be in trouble.

The good thing is I have it where its an asset and not where it isn't. I'm not much into hairy backs or shoulders. I'm very smooth (and tanned) on my back so its all cool.

While I generally like hairy guys, smooth ones are very attractive as well. Its the package that sells...

    LOL

hairy is not a bad thing at all. it just needs to be kept in check, i.e. it should not look messy, too much of anything can be bad (i think). there are some very good looking people with chest hair. just see below.

I'm into guys who create "Chest hair: hot or not?" threads.

This is great, cause I have thousands of guys to choose from ;)

I'm quite hairy too, and I was an early developer, and started growing chest hair in the 8th grade. Made me very self-conscious. I shaved it off a couple times, but I hate the itch. Then in HS when I was a junior and changing after gym class one senior near my locker caught me sans shirt and made the comment about how hairy I was and told me he wished he could be that hairy. Even called one of his friends over and made me lift my shirt. They where envious of me which made me feel better. icon_cool.gif

I just buzz it down with some clippers now and then. I got the Philips Bodygroomer and it works great. Has three guards that come with it so you can trim real close or just do a little clean up.

GH, you have a nice before smooth shot, be sure and take an after shot when it grows in some.

I look alright either way - so sometimes I'm shaved and other times I have some chest hair. I don't like it on shoulders and backs though, and if I saw any hairs in those places - off it would come!

Trimming and cleaning up a bit is a good look.

    Nicely groomed, it is hot!

I never cared much for that 1970's, ultra-bushy carpet of chest hair on a guy. But going into the 1990s, trimmed chest hair, or moderately grown out, looks great!

But if a guy is naturally hair-less, that's not bad, either.

I like all types. Depends on the man. Everyone is a "type" and everyone has a "type". Meaning if you like yourself, dont worry about what others think about your furr. I can promise you there are men who love your hair because you are thier "type". Don't change just to please others, seek out those who appreciate you.

Took me three tries but I found Mr. Right, and he loves my hair.
