If you can endure the pain of High Intensity Interval Training, you can stimulate your body to produce interleukins. They are a class of hormone-like compounds that cause the body to burn fat and not deposit fat even while you are continuing to eat.

    Interleukin-15: A muscle-derived cytokine regulating fat-to-lean body composition

Note: Interleukins are a type of cytokine.

I did P90X but I only wanted to see if I could do it and I wasn't looking to lose weight. Some men actually do it for several rounds.
    Don't give up so quick.

    It's going to take time,
take before/after pics, for you it's like watching paint dry, but seeing the results side by side is good for motivation.
