NEED TRAINING ADVICE

Okay... so I've been training like crazy the last 8 months and I've put on some decent, which I am pretty happy about, but now I would like to get my abs to pop. The trainers at my gym keep telling me to do more cardio, but I am already running twice a week and playing racquetball twice a week, so I am not sure what else I can do.

As far as eating goes, I have a pretty regimented diet. I eat 5-6 meals a day, have salads with both lunch and dinner and have a small snack before bed. I am just wondering what I am doing wrong here, and why I can't get the abs to pop out! Even before when I was doing triathlons I still could not get my abs to show. I am doing interval training as well.

Anybody have any tips on how I can get them to show a little better?

Here's your diet: calculate your BMR.

Of that:
45% of your calories of bmr from ESSENTIAL FAT SOURCES (aka omega 3s, and don't take a little capsule. Get it from food!)
35% essential amino acids
20% low glycemic carbohydrates (leaves and kale and spinach and lettuce are not low glycemic carbs so salads won't usually do it)
EXCEPT after a workout - have a high glycemic carb and whey protein.

The No List: (and I mean like AT ALL. Like NONE. Like not even a tablespoon.)
Caffeine: interferes with insulin regulation; elevates cortisol
Alcohol: spikes insulin if high in sugar, elevates estrogen, interferes with metabolization
Marijuana if you smoke it
Bread (of ANY kind)
Rice (of ANY kind)
Pasta (of ANY kind)

Short version: if it has a mother you can eat it, if it grows you can eat it (for the most part)

Thanks bud. This is all very helpful. I was using Mutant Mass weight gainer... but I've switched back to routine Whey Protein Powder. I don't eat any bread, I'm not a drinker, and I rarely eat Pasta... but I could see how cutting it out would help. Hmmm.... okay... I'm trying to get my abs to pop by March 16.... this is all very helpful. thanks!

Do you have a mother? After all, you do look mighty tasty.
