So a radio station in Saskatoon has started The Gay Bachelor, to find a Valentines's Day date for a gay man. So far the responses have been overwhelmingly positive, with the exception of a few dissenters. My city's pretty conservative, in a conservative province, so this is promising. Have they done anything similar in your city?

Heres the link to the stations facebook page:

No radio station in Buffalo has ever attempted doing this for gay bachelors looking for love or at least a one night stand. It appears that conservative Saskatchewan is more to the left than either Buffalo and Western New York and the rest of the US.

i'm not even sure what radio station they'd use here in NOLA. we lost our main west-coast-esque (i.e. Ryan Seacrest) radio station a little over a year ago to a crappy heavy metal station when the broadcast rights were sold/transferred overnight (nice little surprise for my ears when i cranked the stereo in my car the next morning). Its pretty conservative down here anyway, unsure how it would go over

Nice! My friend is moving to Saskatchewan, and I've been thinking about the possibilities. They say it has the best employment prospects in Canada.

    Hahaha sorry for misleading you.
And yes, Sask. is great. The birthplace of Medicare and all that. It's always been a bubble within a bubble. The economy is so varied and self sustaining that not much affects it. Though Alberta is outpacing it in terms of job growth, that's only because alot of Albertans left to fill jobs in Sask, so those same jobs need filling in Alberta. I wouldn't reccommend living in Regina, the capital, I much prefer Saskatoon, it's bigger and more vibrant. But I'm biased, lol. I did leave to work in Alberta, but I'll always be a Saskatchewan boy.
On a side note, that radio station is also the only one to support the local gay pride week. They host alot of events and help raise awareness, whereas the other stations either ignore it, or make fun of it.
