Ultra-thin condoms not for anal?

    Reviews: http://www.condomdepot.com/product/detail.cfm/nid/183/pid/2105

I had a couple of these break on me and decided never again. After reading reviews on these from Condom Depot, about 98% of the people rave about them, but there are a few scattered about that had breakage issues. Silicone lube and know how to put them on so my deduction is that these were simply not designed for anal sex.

Is there any industry standard to regulate any specification for any condoms that are designed strictly for vaginal sex?

They're advertised as 'the closest thing to nothing at all' which sounds about right. icon_sad.gif

Ultra thin ones are definitely not recommended for anal sex, it's usually rougher than vaginal sex, especially if between 2 men, so more likelihood of breakage.

When I first started having sex you could get 'ultra thick' or 'ultra strong' condoms which were specifically designed for anal sex... I haven't seen these around lately, or maybe just haven't been looking! I guess some guys might not have liked them because they have issues with condoms anyway so thicker is even worse, but personally I've never had a problem using condoms and sometimes I think it's a lot better for aiding endurance if the condom is thicker!

My preferred ones are Durex XL and they have served me well, never any breakages!

    Agree with Pure.

Don't know if you guys get the brand Four Seasons there but they have one type called Extra strength which are meant to prolong sex for highly sensitive guys by being thicker condoms so I guess they would be strong enough to withstand a good ass fucking. And a ton of lube helps.

I use Magnum XL and have never had a problem. Plenty of lube, and put them on properly.

I have used these condoms and never had any issues. Just make sure to use water based lubricant as it says on the condom wrapper and use plenty to avoid friction. So One time condom broke when we didn't have lube and it scared the shit out of me, so now I make sure to double up if we are running low on lube.

Everything I've read contradicts wearing two condoms at the same time, this actually increases the chance of breakage due to the friction created between them. If you don't trust a condom, use a different one!

I totally agree. I don't think it's a good (or safe) move to use two condoms

Not only did the brand that the OP mentioned break on me, Crown, but Kimonos failed too. I don't trust "thin" condoms. If it breaks, it's the same risk level as being unprotected. Not fun.

I've been curious to try polyurethane condoms just because the material is compatible with oil-based lube. I hate water-based or silicone gloop.

@guy using 2 condoms...you EVER told that to a sex educator before? That's like something they tell you on day 1 of any testing location. NEVER use 2 condoms at the same time--even male/female condoms.

    @ppl who break condoms:
I've NEVER had one break. Maybe you should learn how to put one on, and stop having forceful vigorous sex. Again, see a sex educator.

That said--maybe you have a curvy dick or something, in which case I could understand how one part may get stretched more than the other.

Thins: I switched to these and they still haven't broken.

I've heard that female condoms are ideal for anal sex, even designed for that purpose, although they couldn't get endorsed for gay men in the 80s. It's supposed to feel better for both tops and bottoms and would make anal a super clean experience, but I haven't tried them yet.

This. Femdoms are usually polyurethane, which makes them thinner and more durable, and they're safe to use with any sort of lubricant (even oils). They can also be inserted at any time, and they will fit any size and shape dick just fine.

You are right, well I did it once and nothing happened, but I guess luck was on our side. Good to know though, never gonna do it again.

The only time I broke a condom was when I didn't apply ample lube on the inside and outside of the condom (and keep reapplying) or when I didn't keep applying lubrication. I always wondered why some people break them and others don't. I won't say that things aren't tight, but never broken.

My friends grandma told us, "You can never have enough lube. When you think you have enough, add some more!"

    Wise woman.

Never had a problem with crown and I get pretty rough sometime. Use more water based lubes then silicon.

I like Magnum Ecstasy - they're actually not huge overall, they're tighter at the base but bigger at the head so you slide around inside the condom. Kind of a compromise between a traditional condom and a female condom, which I find to be a PITA. I always use a little extra lube inside. I've never had one of these break, and they feel great.
