catfish5 saidRedstate conservative blogger Erick Erickson stated in an interview this morning on CNN that the current crop of GOP candidates dont stand a chance against Obama. Cites divisiveness, uninspiring candidates, and an improving economy. Is it panic time yet?
I sure hope so. Though I don't want the Repugnants to panic too soon, giving them enough time to successfully revise their tactics. The best scenario for US gays is for extreme fundamentalist candidates to be selected and then refuse to modify their rigid, socially conservative (aka wacko) positions.
It worked once for the Teabaggers in 2010 as a novelty, but I think they won't be able to pull that trick off again. Now they've got a failed track record to overcome, and the disgust of Moderate Americans at what they really attempted to do once in office. Pushing mostly extreme conservative social issues and doing little to solve our economic problems and actually govern.
When attacking gays is more important that attacking the bread-and-butter problems of the Middle Class in this country, the Repugnants may hear Hallelujahs in the churches, but see horror at the polls.
