So I used this alternative body scan that a family doctor uses.. its not a medical device, but an alternative therapy-system, claiming to identify problem areas in your environment and diet that effect your health personally.. a scan showed that I had problems with roasted foods, fried foods, and carbohydrates, especially gluten containing foods and white rice..
This came as a total shock to me, because i always ate those foods profusely,.. being an ectomorph and hoping to gain weight that way... After the scan, I immediately cut them out of my diet and began to focus on a lot of cooked, baked and raw vegetables and meats...
I had lost weight many months ago after a bout of mononucleosis.. within days of changing my diet, I gained 2 kilos.. and I mean just DAYS!!! Only a few days in I had much better energy levels.. whereas since the mono, I had not had the energy to train anymore and when I went to the beach, I would laze around in an armchair under a coconut tree.....
now, within days of the diet change I was at the beach and started to do yoga, breakdance, capoeira, pilates on the beach, swimming, and all that other stuff i used to do before the disease .. Suddenly I had energy and everything.. Even my friends and family are saying since the diet change I LOOK better too...
So not only did the diet analysis help me to gain weight, it helped me get energy back, and keeps my digestive system happy, so I have the motivation to exercise, I just feel generally better, am more resistent to stress, etc.... I used to drink a lot of ginger and mint teas for digestion after a meal... but i don't even need them anymore
Only once after the diet switch, i tried an old staple of mine and ate a plate of pasta..., for hours after I could just FEEL my digestive system groaning..!!... I had never noticed that before, because I had never tried cutting those foods out of my diet in the first place....... my stomach feels so much better now following the rules.. to a level I did not know was possible evem!
I know I sound like a west coast hippy (lol), but i would recommend everybody to look at their own digestive system and find out where its sensitive... Its different for everybody, but I highly recommend doing it for ALL the benefits
Remember that the above scan applied only to me... other people may have completely different problems, for instance with processed salts or sugars... both of which I am fine with.. its individual, but I'm pretty sure you wont be sorry if you try ;)
