    As a committed homophobe.

It's an undeniable FACT now that Mitt Romney would be an aggressively activist anti-gay president if he were ever to get elected.

His own words - spoken today at this year's CPAC convention - make that very clear.

Will Romney's promises today get the far right Repubs to finally give him some love?

Or has he just made himself even MORE unelectable in a general election?

By barring out-of-state gay couples from getting married in the state, "On my watch, we fought hard and prevented Massachusetts from becoming the Las Vegas of gay marriage," Romney said. He added, "When I am President, I will defend the Defense of Marriage Act and I will fight for an amendment to our Constitution that defines marriage as a relationship between one man and one woman."

You can't get anymore clear than that. Once again, he lets us know where he stands on the issue. And before some come into this thread and say "Obama doesn't support gay marriage", Obama does not want a constitutional amendment. Obama is not defending DOMA. Obama does not want to take gay marriage away from the states that already have it. His view has been leave it up to each state decide, not good enough, but still so much different than any of the leading Republican candidates (and Paul is not a leading candidate, he has no chance of getting the nomination).

He is adamantly against gay marriage, who didn't know this already? He's running for office as a republican and there is an extremist christian wing base that is depended upon for election.

Of course I get the joke, it's just annoying to use a misleading title to get more views. The topics in news and politics often do it and it makes for a disappointing mouse click.

FYI it's been frequently done in the "All Things Gay" Forum too.

It can be funny and fair as on this thread and some others - or it can just be a trick.

I didn't intend for it to be a trick in this case.

Considering Romney's LONG history of blatant flip-flops and trying to play both sides of as many issues as he can get away with - its fair to portray his words today as "OUT"ing his true extremely anti-gay views.

And using the word OUT is appropriate given the fact that Willard was finally telling the truth about his views on homosexuality.
