For some reason I was thinking about whether or not gay guys give each other rings and it got me to searching for wedding bands and stuff on Google. Anyone have any ideas about what kind of ring a guy gives another guy? I really like the simple titanium kind of ring... seems masculine and minimalist.

What kinds of rings have y'all seen or do you like for yourselves or another man?

The one who decides he loves his boyfriend and wants to make a life long commitment. Sexual position has nothing to do with it.

Are you sure because sometimes I see the guy propose to his girlfriend so maybe that translates into top proposing to bottom?

I'm not getting married any time soon, unless one of my RJ crushes wants to propose :p. I was just curious.

I saw this one and thought it was cool. I'd like something like it, but I'm thinking still.

I've never enjoyed wearing jewelry...not even a watch. I'd be happiest if he just priced the nicest ring he can find, and gave me the equivalent value in money. icon_biggrin.gif

The one who's not hung up on outdated gender roles.

That sounds the sensible thing to do. It kinda takes away the awkwardness if its the bottom that wants to propose...

I don't like jewelry. I don't even wear a watch most of the time. I suppose if I ever get married (legally or otherwise), I'd go for something simple and classic, nothing flashy or trendy that I'll get sick of later.

What hand do gay guys wear the ring on? Some seem to do the traditional left hand, while others do the right hand to distinguish themselves from straight couples.

Not sure if you ask that seriously, but I can see no relationship with sexual roles, when a proposal is actually being made. Are you intimating that the bottom is the female, the top the male, and the male traditionally proposes? I wasn't aware anyone thinks that way anymore in our community.

I've been proposed to twice, once with the classic bended knee and presenting of a ring. But I don't know if that's necessary with 2 guys, more something that's traditional with straight couples.

If there is an engagement ring its style ought to attempt to satisfy the tastes of the receiver, whether that's simple & subdued, or a bit gaudy. The wedding rings should match, and accommodate the tastes of both men as much as possible. I don't normally wear rings, but will put on a matching wedding ring when we go to some function together. Nothing fancy or expensive, more a token.

I'm not a fan of jewelry in general. So I'd also prefer something simple like a platinum or titanium band.

    I would want this:

I don't usually like wedding rings that are more detailed than that.
