concern for unstable RJ members

been reading a few posts this weekend and there seems to be a fair few RJ members who appear to be quite unstable and quite possibly suffering depression, anxiety or some kind of mental illness. They try and cover it up in ways that those of us who have suffered mental illness can recognise.
2 in particular have been very vocal and are displaying tendancys i've seen before in friends that have suicided or over dosed.

I understand that bitchy queens will always exist and this platform kind of encourages radical statements, but i cant help but wonder what happens to these people IRL?
I mean when their posts stop, their profile hasnt been active for a while does any body know or care what happened to them? Is this forum (website as a whole) even able to be considered a community?

    Hi Dontell...,

you are right there is a lots of off people, here and everywhere.

We may just tell our stories, and what worked for us, and maybe they will get inspired to do something... but this is all...

Me and my husband are building a Zen monastery that will include Iboga and Aya with heavy duty meditation...

    take care

You're so right Dave, and I do hit ignore often. I guess my softer gentler side hopes they have people in their lives.

I guess concern and compassion is reserved for cute young gay men who are going through a tough time, eh?

Mind you, some users have overdone the "woe is me" card (is ac2394 or whatever his name is still around?)...but sometimes I suspect people are wounded, and need to express themselves, but have no one to express themselves to.

I only noticed that a disproportionate number of the seemingly unstable in my opinion come from a certain country which shall remain unnamed to protect the innocent. icon_cry.gif

You may consider me unstable too, but I'm going to post anyway.

I had actually wondered a couple of times about southbeach. I've never met someone like him in the real world, and I wondered "what is his life like? What does he do with his days? What life experiences led up to creating him? What kind of home does he have?". I'll bet he's had a completely different life than most of the members here. There are others too, and I wonder about them and what spending time with them would be like. I just can't picture how some people behave in a real life social situation.

What tendancy's are being displayed by these 2 particularly vocal people and secondly in what ways are they trying to cover it up in ways that you recognize?

    Passive aggressiveness
Self hatred, depression, social anxiety come to mind,
Covering it up with bullying, lying (story telling), inconsistancies in their back story (previous posts)

I have people who love me in my life but I feel that as opposed to enriching my life they just hinder me from committing because I don't have the heart to put them through the grief of my death. icon_confused.gif

southbeach1500 saidbetter that they vent here, rather than in the "real world"
Agreed. That is why I started the "Confessions..." thread.
I don't have friends who I would trust to not judge me about certain things. There are some things that not even my boyfriend knows and he knows more about me than even my parents do.
Oh and since Facebook is now stalking territory for potential employers I can't post all my feelings there because I might actually one day still be alive to need a job.

Interesting .. still it eludes me as to why when a person is fully aware that they are for lack of another term, unstable, do they continue to masquerade as such also knowing that most of the people around them are aware of it. Or do they not think that most of the people around them can see their instability?
