When my lab was a puppy and I knew I was going to have someone over... I'd give her Benadryl to knock her out.

That's right I drugged my dog to have sex.

Less drastically, if you have an "outside" you can put them there.... or maybe take them on a really really long walk to tucker them out while you're playing icon_razz.gif

You could get a baby gate and put them in a different part of the house where you wont' hear them..

    Turn on some music.

As you can see, I have this problem too. Mine has degraded into her just staring at anyone I sleep with though. icon_razz.gif

i actually wrote a poem about an encounter where a dude's dog made sex really awkward... then i became known as a gay sex poet. go figure.

remember, you are the pack leader. they just want to make sure nothing is happening to you and you are okay.

Give them a long lasting rawhide treat or a bone from the supermarket or Pet Smart. Will keep them busy for a long time and they will forget all about you. The bones last longer and wont hurt the dogs because there are no shards, just dried meat on them. They are messy though so dont let them chew on them on the carpet.

Nope! My chocolate lab lays in her bed next to mine.. she's content to just 'be' in the same area to do her 'watchdogging'.

Well Joey... you do have things backwards! You need to TRAIN your dogs not to scratch & whine. My 3 beagles don't. They are invited in when
it makes sense... otherwise, they lay down quietly and ignore the noise.

And as far as a guy scratching at your door. You need to get that right too.
    They need to whine too....

Don't! If the cat doesn't like your trick, he may shit on the guy's clothes.

When my dog was younger, he attacked one guy that tried to make out with me, I guess thinking he was being protective. Luckily, he's gotten over that. However, now if I don't put him in another room, he does sit there and watch like a stalker, which to be honest he does no matter what i'm doing if i'm not paying attention to him.

Mine used to watch, but they eventually got bored with it. The one who was more the jealous type would try to join in the after-sex snuggles, but she passed away a couple of years ago.

The stupid cat though... gotta kick him outside or he'll try to join in the action.

Yeah, I always think twice about even dating a guy with a dog. There tends to be little room in the owner /dog relationship for a BF and most guys aren't clean enough to have a live in dog. (They get used to it and don't realize their place reeks of dog. )

I love dogs, but I have had some dates with guys whose dogs RULED them, and needless to say, there were rarely second dates with them. One guy had a Jack Russell that would not stop barking the entire time I was there (not having sex, mind you, just sitting and talking), not to mention constantly climbing between us on the sofa. It was clear that the dog was used to all of the attention at all time. At no point was the owner able or inclined to impose any sort of boundary.

In the relationship between dog and man, it doesn't work if the dog is the alpha.

Not being able to control an animal might be just the tip of the iceberg.

Take them to an obedience school. Alternatively, google ways to train them, and train them to go lay down when you tell them to.

I got a guy who lives far away but sometimes comes through Montreal with his giant Bernese Mountain Dog. Unfortunately my roomate's girlfriend hates animals so Duke gets to spend the night in my tiny room with us. A bit awkward at first but he's pretty oblivious and just sleeps the whole time (my old room was convieniently windowless, which was better since it tricked him into thinking it was still nighttime haha)

Haha .... My pups are spoiled rotten ......
    This is true
But they are little Yorkies and unfortunately these dogs react to any little noise there is
And forget it ..... They hear me carrying around behind a closed door all hell would break lose

AAdam ... Lol you drugged your pup to have sex?
That's great ..... You made me laugh with That one

I'll probably just continue to take it put on the road icon_lol.gif

Might be interesting to strap a POV camera on to the dog and see if he makes a good xtube director ;)
