Would you date yourself?

Because I know I wouldn't....this begets the question: Does the fact that I wouldn't date myself mean I don't really like myself..Or does it just mean that I'm not a vain person. Maybe it means the person I would be most happy with is everything I'm not

Something I never gave much thought to.......dunno...icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe. I think I'd just get annoyed with myself for being so uptight and chintzy.

I'd have sex with me though. ;)

    Hmm, I don't know.

Nearly any time I point out someone that I think is hot to my friends, they tell me that the guy looks like me - and I can definitely see that, so I guess in a way I am attracted to guys that have similar features to myself....Is that really vain, or weird? haha

Would I date myself - or someone like myself? Absolutely! I have always dated people pretty much like myself. I'm very happy with the end result of a lot of years of polishing up my act - so to speak. Right now I'm with someone quite a bit like myself - - - - and it is an amazing relationship.

Of course... why be someone I wouldn't date; if I'm going to find someone who like me for what sums me up; and not someone constantly trashing on how I'm wrong this way, or that way... that's not a healthy happy relationship. That's abuse. Sometimes people need to have themselves videotaped so they can see what they're like when they think noone is paying attention. That way they can see what they portray themselves to others to be!

I guess it would depend why you wouldn't date yourself. If its because you don't like a lot of your qualities thats kind of sad. If its that two bottoms will be bumping asses thats an entirely different reason lol.

Don't think so. Could be rather boring and predictable (not that I am boring, but I want someone that brings something new and different to the table).

So to the Op's questions, I don't think it means that you don't like yourself. It just means you want to experience someone other then you.

I would date myself, have huge public fights, go home, have incredibly hot sex, fly to Seattle, get married, have a huge party, get drunk have a 3some-with someone just like myself, get pissed off and get a divorce, but long for myself some more, start dating myself again, even though all my friends would hate the fact I am back together with myself, then secretly run off again and marry myself in New Hampshire and finally realize I am incredibly happy with myself, settle down and live happily ever after.

No, I like guys who are the opposite of me. I think dating myself would be boring.

I think it's healthy to be one's own best friend, which is what I try to be to myself. I think I have good qualities that others find appealing, but no--the thought of dating myself would be a complete non-starter.

Would I date a clone of me? No, I wouldn't. But I would date someone with the same or similar values, sense of humor, and priorities. That doesn't mean I wouldn't also date someone different than me but there are some areas I wouldn't compromise on like integrity. Personality and character matter more and more to me.

If you're just talking physically, first of all, I think there's a hard to describe physical attraction element that has to be met. Many of us focus on our flaws and miss our strengths. I'm no different. When I look in the mirror, or at a picture, I see things I don't like but I'd like to think that I'd meet the minimum bar for myself.
