This long article is well written and worth a read. Before this thread becomes blasted with bias, hate, and ignorance, I'd like to remind everyone in the United States of America that what they enjoy on a daily basis is made possible by the men and women highlighted in the article.

I used to walk through a graveyard everyday on my way to work. Nothing spooky about dead corpses. It's kind of a calm, you think more about the people living rather than the rotting bodies.

    But really, no big deal.

Right, they WERE us, only they paid the ultimate price for our freedoms.

We definately owe our soldiers a lot. We should all stay alert though as voters to make sure that we are backing military efforts pushed by our leaders that are actually for our freedom, not for the freedom of corps to exploit the resources of other country's under a false banner of freedom and 'keeping us safe'.

We were misled into a tragically unnecessary and fruitless war with Iraq and now the same group is pushing for yet another war, this one with Iran and using the same damn tactics. I know, its uncomfortable to bring this up, but I don't want a son or other family and friends children giving the ultimate based on anymore lies. Its high time people speak out against the bullshit pushed on the masses, which places the ultimate sacrifice on them rather than on the Chicken Hawk armchair warriors who lead our sons and daughters into harms way.

Thanks to all who serve though regardless of the errors of corrupt leaders.

It is said that the most patriotic action is to speak out in ways to make sure that our sons and daughters in the military are not used in other than protection of our freedoms. It is the patriotic duty of all to expose corruption that may misdirect our military.

I guess I don't find honoring our servicemen and woman to be controversial even If I disagree with the policies they are following.

Most of the actual soldiers do deserve recognition, but the damn Neo Con's deserve deep investigation all the way to Bush and Cheney, then a trial for treason and a harsh sentence for what their lies cost the US in blood and treasure. But Obama sold out to the Military Industrial Complex making sure that such a trial will not take place. Eisenhour warned us 50 years ago and now we are living the results of what took place as a result of not heeding his warning.

Somehow we need to find a balance between honoring our soldiers and making the G-Damn NeoCons accountable for their actions. Somethings got to be done because we're being dragged into a war with Iran with the same tactics they used to get us into Iraq.
