Wow - leading 39-24 in a state where Mitt's dad was governor in the 1960s! Public Policy Polling contacted 404 likely GOP voters from Feb. 10-12 and MOE is 5 points.

I will be very surprised if Mitt Romney loses Michigan. It wouldn't be a fatal blow to his campaign, but it won't be good.

If that right wing lunatic from Pennsylvania Rick Santorum wins Michigan and then goes on to win most of the other GOP primaries, than that could be the death knell for the GOP's plan to defeat Obama. I hope republicans in Michigan use sound judgment by voting either for Mitt Romney or Jon Huntsman.

John Huntsman withdrew. There are only five names left on the ballot in Michigan: Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, and Fred Karger.

Why would you be surprised? Michigan benefitted from the auto bailout that Romney opposed. Michigan hates Romney.

Why would he be surprised? This is the same guy who a few weeks ago was telling us Jon Huntsman had a very good chance of being the GOP nominee and that Santorum would be out of the race by February.

The sun rising in the morning probably surprised him.

Nah, I'm rooting for Rick Sanitorium. Every vote for him now is a vote for Obama in November. Go Rick! icon_biggrin.gif

By all means, let this religious fundi win with jezuz votes for war and control in our bedrooms, then Obama will have the election in his pocket. Repubs didn't learn a thing from all their far right t-bagger backed failures so now they're going to repeat the same mistake.

Maybe come Caucus day the Repub Establishment will order a few Precinct stand downs like they did in Main against Paul so their man Romney can appear to win. This is all comical as hell !!!!

I don't think I ever said Jon Huntsman "has a very good chance" of being the GOP nominee --- since he never quite caught on in the polls, not to mention that he has been out of the race for over a month now. I sure wish he was in the running though. As for Santorum being out of the race by February...I think most people thought that. Let's hope it's only going to be true a month late. I shutter to think that he could possibly get the nomination.

Be careful what you wish for. If Santorum manages to somehow get the nomination, it's not completely impossible that he could also win the general election -- much as the thought of that makes me want to hurl.

You guys warnings about Santorum are correct. I remember that most of us thought that the Ignorant George Bush who'd ridden in on daddies coat tails could never get elected and he pulled it off twice.

The Fundi's are well organized and getting more and more determined to get that 'black' man out of their white house. To them its a matter of saving god and country, they could pull it off, because very few of us have the excitement to put Obama back in, that they have to get him out. If you get my drift. I am afraid of what these Fundi Fanatics will pull off to win for the likes of Santorum. We'd do well to not underestimate their resolve to win.
