How annoying it is to live in Northern Virginia and have to put up with the rest of Virginia's backwards crap.

They may change their tune rather abruptly when they discover how much all those babies are going to cost the State.

"Births resulting from unintended pregnancies in Virginia accounted for $286 million in public costs in 2006, including $143 million in federal costs and $143 million in state costs."

...and that was WITH abortion etc.

Either that, or start offering free contraceptives.

Makes me glad that I'm getting the heck outta Virginia...The Republicans have gone absolutely mad...The only good thing about this: They'll push the moderates to vote for Obama in 2012.

This is exhibit A of what will happen if either Romeny or Santorum win in 2012....Far right republicans are dangerous when it comes to social issues.

I dont think the article was on point. It assumed you knew what "personhood" was.

if it passed it would conflict with ROE v Wade and likely would meet federal court challenges.

More posturing than anything that would stick legally.

This is exactly what you get when you you cross Christian fundi ideology with government to 'bring government back to god'. These same dumb fucks are the ones pushing for wars over their G-damn stupid bible superstitions that may well kill hundreds of thousands, just as with their Fundi Backed Iraq war. Also check out which groups in the US were most likely to support torture, Born again Fundi's were 70% more likely to approve such atrocities than atheists. Look it up for yourselves. These idiots have no qualms in approving suffering or killing of the living for their 'godly causes' which include war, yet these same bible thumpers chafe over a sperm that just united with an egg.

This kind of hypocritical stupidity is astounding, and a sign of worse to come if progressive minded voters don't start being just as loud or louder than these religious fanatics. These kinds of decisions come from Bible thumper ignorance and the old saying fits perfectly, 'you cannot reason with the ignorant', especially not if they've got a bible in their hand.
