Really!? One Java Chip Frappuccino in a Trenta cup, 16 shots of espresso, a shot of soy milk, caramel flavoring, banana puree, strawberry puree, vanilla beans, Matcha powder, protein powder, and a drizzle of caramel and mocha.
    So much caffeine and calories!!!

The resulting beverage contains 1400mg of caffeine. According to Erowid, a widely respected drug catalog, a heavy caffeine dose is 400+mg. This drink has 3 times that. If I drank this all at once, it would put me in the hospital. Two of these would kill me.
The flavor? Tolerable, but not good. Imagine a coffee-based health food smoothie that will put you in the hospital if you drink it all. That’s how it tastes…like Jillian Michaels with a touch of Chuck Norris.

I'd like to see a video of that guy half an hour after he drank it.

It has too many different ingredients. Why so many? How can that even taste good?

Where is this, though? Obviously in the United States.

I remember reading a few years ago that the most expensive cup of plain coffee in the world is almost any Starbucks in Moscow. Apparently regular joe can cost up to $10!

Starbucks hadn't arrived in Russia yet when I studied there in 2006. Besides, I lived in Nizhny Novgorod, which is a MUCH cheaper city than Moscow. However, I do remember small cappuccinos at various cafes averaging about $5. Still pretty steep.

It was a free birthday drink, so he probably added as many ingredients as he could to make it expensive. I doubt he would order the same thing if he had to pay for it. Heck, he probably didn't even drink it.

Dude, 16 shots means it took them 8 draws on the machine to fill the order.

You're undatable in my book, borderline a woman.

Sadly yes, Trenta (it's actually 31oz) really does exist but only in some locations.

good god. The most i ever did was a quad-shot macchiato during finals week one time back in '07. It did more harm than good and left me vibrating (shut up), sweating and paranoid. One can only imagine what drinking this monstrosity might do to a person.

Trolli, put the sticks down and walk away from the snaredrums very slowly.

    Thank you.

I agree. That is way too many calories, but from the perspective of the college student, the caffeine content is to die for.

Also, I had a trente when I was in Washington, DC. Best size for iced tea, imo.

    Challenge accepted.

RoadsterRacer87 - Not surprised. Glad you survived it.

Trollileo - Have yourself videoed before, while drinking it, and during the hour after. See the intelligent hero that you are.

As a Starbucks connoisseur, I have to point a few things:

    1. Trenta size is just for iced beverages (tea and iced coffee). They don't normally serve espresso based drinks in that size, but I assume they had to pour a Venti frap into a Trenta cup due to all the extras.

    2. It's a free birthday drink. If more people game the system like this, Starbucks will likely discontinue free birthday drinks. You have to be a registered Starbucks card holder to get the free birthday offer.

    3. I've never heard of a Starbucks that offered protein powder. I must find this location!

Oh, and I'd likely become violent if I was standing in line behind this douche.

That's a curious turn of phrase, given that that's enough caffeine to cause serious side effects in some people.

I'm sure he's a nice guy, but the starbucks cup + the order + that tie + his face= him seeming perfectly punchable.

which I'm sure isn't the case because he's probably really nice.

Really? I've had one of their smoothies before, and I thought they were really bland... had no idea they offered protein shots!

The Trenta is actually not a big deal. They don't make coffee drinks in them as rule, nor frappachinos...They are for the shaken tea beverages,

I get an iced-trenta, no classic, no water, green tea and drink on it all day...no calories lots of yummy green tea for a just a few bucks
