Romney trails Santorum in his home state of Michigan. A loss here could completely derail the Romney campaign. Stay tuned on 2/28/2012.....

Major spotlight race Catfish...Interesting its a crossover state so Dems, Independents and Reps can vote. If I can recollect, this helped Wallace with his 1972 Dem win (51%) as there was no real opposition to President Nixon on the GOP side (N.B.: the primary was also the day after the Wallace assassination attempt so there may have been a strong sympathy vote too). In 1976, Jimmy Carter pretty much had his party's nomination locked down by the mid May primary date and there was significant crossover potential as the Wallace voter in 1972 - 800,000 strong - were technically up for grabs as the parapalegic Wallace was not really in the running in his 1976 campaign. As it was, many Democrats, Republicans and Independents helped President Ford from being embarrassed in his backyard by Ronald Reagan. This outpouring of GOP support too was driven by the Ford campaign highlighting Reagan's media play for the Wallace vote and deriding interlopers coming over to infiltrate the GOP primary. Beleagured Jerry won going away - 65% to 34% - finally slowing the Reagan juggernaut that had started with his upset win in the North Carolina primary.

Romney and Santorum drop out of March 1 CNN debate.

Texas primary on hold with numerous delegates at stake.

This primary could last forever and destroy the GOP.

Romney dropping out of the debate is more proof that his campaign is in a state of shock and trying to regroup.

What I heard is that the other candidate who dropped out is Ron Paul and that Santorum hadn't said yes or no yet on his participation.

Gingrich is the only one who had confirmed he would be there.

Texas now could be as late as May 29th with the legal challenges to the redistricting maps. Although it could prove a kingmaker of a state since it would be late in the game in a tied up GOP race.

Texas will go for Santorum. Romney is considered a liberal cult leader here.
Santorum has been hitting up the churches making evangelicals cry with his sweet family values stories.

You fail. Have u not heard the video of Romney screaming for government involvement to bailout GM. Where is Washington. Are they just gonna let GM fail?

Now he saying the exact opposite. I was against the bailout. I told them not to write that check.

Its sooo fucking ridiculous. With the success in GM and turnaround in Michigan, Romney wont win his home state. That could destroy the Romney campaign!

Now Adelson is infusing 10 mil into the Gingrich campaign to keep Gingrich in the race, destroy Santorum, and give Romney the nom.

Oh GOP. What a tangled web we weave!

    I'm referring to punctuation catfishbrain:

Yours: Romney to Michigan: I'm coming home Michigan to Romney: Go Away

The proper way: Romney to Michigan: I'm coming home, Michigan to Romney: Go Away

No, he is turning somersaults on this issue NOW claiming he was FOR a "managed bankruptcy" - um, which is exactly what the Bush/Obvama administrations proposed and implemented. A managed BK is Chapter 11 in my book or Mitt do you have another defintion of such?

I will be truly astounded (as I am sure MANY Republicans will be) if Rick Santorum ends up getting the nomination. I actually think there is a better chance of a brokered convention than Santorum getting the nomination. Regardless, if he gets the nomination, I will be voting for ANYONE but him.

    Oh God.

Can we please add this to the list of CJAZ's failed prognostications.

    1. John Huntsman has a very good chance of being the GOP nominee.
    2. Rick Santorum will be out of the race by February.
    3. Santorum has no chance in Michigan.
    4. Condoleeza Rice has a chance at being the GOP nominee.

Delusion on display. He still cannot admit that his beloved GOP is batshit crazy. Hunstman and Rice have a better chance at being elected as Demcorats: they will never be elected dogcatcher in the Republican party.
