    Great news!

Month by month we're repairing the damage done by the Bush recession.

We just need to stay the course and make sure we don't go back to the same failed Repub policies that wrecked the economy to begin with.

And how do you know this recovery is not because of the fact that the House is now majority GOP? Weren't you "asking" where the recovery was now that the house was taken over, well, maybe you're finally seeing it happen! lol

LOL. Repairing damage would be seriously tackling the debt problem and Obama is doing absolutely nothing about that.

Then why is he doing exactly that? Going back to the failed policies originally championed by democrats and furthered by certain Republicans and Bush.

    LOL!
Please enlighten us and tell us when it was that the Repubs passed a jobs bill since they took control of the House.
What piece of JOBS legislation did the Repubs pass over the last year that created jobs?
And how did they get it passed into law without President Obama signing it into law?

And your claim that President Obama has done "absolutely nothing" to reduce the National Debt is TOTALLY FALSE revisionist bs.

Last summer President Obama proposed a 4 trillion dollar "Grand Bargain" debt reduction deal.
The Repubs in the House rejected the deal and said that it was too large and that it would reduce the National Debt TOO MUCH.
The Repubs countered with a debt reduction deal of less than ONE trillion.
President Obama rejected that too-small deal and after more negotiations a 2.5 trillion dollar compromise deal was reached which President Obama signed into law.

Tell us - how many debt reduction deals did George W. Bush sign into law?

Bush promised to completely eliminate the National Debt by the end of his time in office but he actually DOUBLED IT.
Did Bush sign any debt reduction deals into law?
Did he even PROPOSE any debt reduction deals?
We know he spent money like crazy and signed into law the Bush prescription drug bill - a massive government program that is 100 % UNPAID FOR and that will cost half a trillion dollars in the first 10 years alone.
Did Repub Bush make ANY attempt to reduce spending or reduce the National Debt?
Or did he just borrow and spend and borrow and spend?

The Repubs claimed that "deficits don't matter" for most of the last 30 years while they blew up the National Debt.

Repub presidents have added TRILLIONS more to the Nationsl Debt than Democratic presidents have.

The Repub's economic policies are NOT the answer to our debt problem.
THEY ARE THE MAIN CAUSE OF OUR DEBT PROBLEMS.

"Jobs bill"??? LOL! The government can only create more government jobs which would then just keep increasing the size of government. Jobs bills are stupid. You don't create private sector jobs by passing jobs bills. lol. Nobody can "force" businesses to hire or lay off, they do what they think is in their best interest given the business friendly climate. Obama has not been giving that assurance.

Furthermore, complaining about bush or leftwing economic policies that he embraced does nothing for your case, it only proves that Bush engaged in the policies you're already in favor of which then makes you look like a colossal buffoon.

Did you ever wonder why the Tea party originally formed? (before it got hijacked by religious extremists) Because of the leftwing interventionist and big-government liberal policies that Bush embraced! Many small-government fiscal conservatives and libertarians got fed up with this big government expansion these ridiculous wars.

That's why real fiscal conservatives hate bush! D'oh!!

Thank you for admitting that the Repubs have broken their campaign 2010 promise to "focus like a laser beam on jobs jobs jobs" and have done jackshit to create jobs since they took control of the House a year ago.

Given the fact that you and they claim that there's nothing that elected members of government can do to create jobs it's obvious that the Repubs LIED when they promised to create jobs if folks voted for them.

And given the fact that the Repubs running for president are advocating the same failed debt-creating economic policies advocated by Bush there's really no reason to vote for them - and many reasons to NOT vote for them.

It's impossible to "create" jobs. You don't go around with guns telling business owners they need to create jobs, or send out mandates to create jobs. Maybe in your communist world that's how it should happen, but not in mine.

Administrations and those holding political offices either bring an aura of business friendliness or of business hostility. How any jobs are created will reflect the confidence businesses have to go forward with expanding their hiring.

You "focus like a laser beam on jobs jobs jobs" by killing the lack of business friendliness that has been coming from the Obama administration.

    This is to Mr Twinkie

Was it an AURA of business acumen when the republican party as a whole said take a flying leap to the auto industry when they were about to go belly up.?

When businesses are DROWNING under the heap of the MESS that is health care in this country .... Is it the AURA of business sense to look at the problem
AND DO THE VERY SAME THING THAT GOT US HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Time to realize that the world ain't flat ... Mr Mock

That's proved false by the simple facts of the non-partisan unbiased historical record.

Bush and the Repubs in Congress went on an orgy of extreme and excess deregulation during the Bush years.

All that excess deregulation did not result in strong job creation.
In fact Bush has the worst track record on record for job creation.
    http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2009/01/09/bush-on-jobs-the-worst-track-record-on-record/
So sez the right-wing mouthpiece the WSJ.

What all that Repub excess deregulation DID do was lead to the banking crisis a massive economic meltdown and the bank bailout.

We sure as hell don't need to go back down that Repub road to economic ruin

(First Time) Jobless claims fall to lowest level since before financial crisis

    http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/jobless-claims-fall-lowest-level-since-financial-crisis-175545793.html

I would rather have a temporary increase in debt than a depression. I do expect the government to focus more on decreasing the debt as the country gets stronger, but not to the point where it pushes the economy back down. They need to carefully to balance the two.

It would be nice to see the demand for housing go up again as well. I have been through previous recessions, seen real estate take a dive before (in California), but I have never seen a recession before hurt so many people as this one that we have been in. I think the tea party made things take longer than they needed to.

    Yup.

The Repubs promised to focus like a laser beam on creating jobs jobs jobs - but once they took control of the House they did everything BUT focus on creating jobs.

They passed a bunch of anti-abortion stuff tried to repeal the HCR bill and tried to reinstate DADT.

And then in an attempt to hurt the economy and kill jobs - they pushed the country to the brink of a total government shutdown with their debt ceiling manipulations that caused the US to have its credit rating downgraded.

Plus the right-wing propaganda machine has relentlessly tried to talk down the economy and damage consumer confidence by claiming that the economy is getting worse on Fox and right-wing talk radio.

They've done everything they could think of to try to slow the recovery.

Wow you really have no memory do you. I've disproved this bullshit about deregulation ad nauseum. I suppose you don't mind making a fool out of yourself though by repeating it.

mocktwinkie saidAnd how do you know this recovery is not because of the fact that Congress is now majority GOP? Weren't you "asking" where the recovery was now that the house was taken over, well, maybe you're finally seeing it happen! lol

    RickRick91 saidGreat news!

Month by month we're repairing the damage done by the Bush recession.

We just need to stay the course and make sure we don't go back to the same failed Repub policies that wrecked the economy to begin with.

LOL. Repairing damage would be seriously tackling the debt problem and Obama is doing absolutely nothing about that.

The obstructionist GOP house with single digit approval ratings?? Nice try...LMFAO

    Yup.

The obstructionist Repubs who promised to "focus like a laser beam on jobs jobs jobs" and who have done jackshit to create jobs.

The obstructionist Repubs who tried to shut down the government and caused the Tea Party Downgrade last summer.

The obstructionist Repubs who we need to boot the hell out of the Congress so we can prevent them from doing anymore damage.
