GQjock saidYeah but he preceded his statement with .... BACK IN. MY DAY
Tough being an old geezer ...... With Alzheimer's
Not that the dude was playing with a full deck to begin with
Yeah, well BACK IN MY DAY women couldn't serve in regular Army units (they actually all belonged to the WAC [Women's Army Corps] and were attached on "loan" to units for admin duties. I'm glad that's behind us now, and women are equal as soldiers, as are gays (at least until Republicans return to power).
And BACK IN MY DAY girls couldn't wear pants in high school, it was dresses only. And girls and boys both couldn't have access to any contraceptives, because you either had to be 18 or 21, or have a doctor's prescription, depending on the State, if they were available at all.
So I could believe it was "aspirins between the knees" (meaning abstinence), while of course the boys & men of this Friess guy's generation were free to fuck around all the wanted, contraceptives or no contraceptives. I'd like to ask him at what age he lost his own cherry (a chilling thought).
Point is, this is OUR day, the present, not anybody's else's past. And while I like to reminisce myself, that doesn't mean my past must become your present. But then that's in the basic definition of those who call themselves Conservatives, isn't it? Nothing must change, nothing must advance, not in science and not in society.
It's said that you can't teach an old dog new tricks. If you're a Conservative dog, you make new tricks against the law.
