I was just diagnosing a rattle and I thought that baffles were loose in the muffler. Good thing it wasn't the muffler! Everyone needs to clean out those pipes once and a while eh? icon_wink.gif After a long spirited drive the amount of heat and pressure evaporated all the excess water out, didn't even need a towel. LOL

You are basically destroying the metal inside the muffler (oxidation). That shouldn't be a problem unless water makes its way to the catalytic converter.

    LOL...that's awesome! icon_twisted.gif

Luckily BMWKid, the cat's are above the whole catback exhaust system so water would have a hard time getting up there. I installed a full stainless steel system myself so I better not be afraid of any rust/oxidation since I do live in Raincouver's wet coast!! A good 2 hour drive after that episode would have dried up and evaporated everything inside that was left. I was actually testing for loose muffler baffles and if I had to replace the muffler then I wasn't losing anything and gaining 100% silliness. icon_lol.gif Luckily it wasn't that! icon_biggrin.gif

icon_neutral.gif You know, on boats, it's supposed to do that. When I'm motoring, I look over the stern once in a while to make sure the exhaust is still spewing water. It's faster than getting down on my knees to squint at the temperature gauge.

In fact, guys have posted all kinds of videos of their exhaust on youtube.
Is it supposed to come out in spurts like that?
    Mine shoots four feet!
    Mine just trickles out...

I never noticed the irony before. I guess my dirty mind wasn't fully engaged (Was too worried about whether my emissions were strong enough.) icon_razz.gif

(If anyone wants to see, go on youtube and search "atomic 4 exhaust"
