I am 20 pages away from finishing A Feast for Crows. This is one of the most addicting series I've ever read....and I apparently didn't like fantasy.

    Favorite characters?

What parts blew you away that you didnt see coming?

I'm long done. I've even read the teaser chapters for the next book (which GRRM will probably finish in 2017)

Fave characters are Arya, Brienne and Jon Snow. I also really like Sam even though he can be a putz. Least favorite character is Daenerys, though I know she's a favorite of many fans, but her story is so far removed from the rest of the tale, I think her chapters bring the series to a screeching halt.

Most shocking scene was the infamous Red Wedding (no spoilers). I literally threw the book across the room and waited several days before picking it up again. That was the moment I realized I had no idea what this story was about and where he was going with it.

Favorite characters... there are a lot, but i won't say which ones, every time I start liking a character, he dies...

Seriously! I woke up the next morning thinking about it and went and re-read that part to make sure I didn't dream it.....and it stuck with me for days.

Im finished and I love it. I keep on pushing the books on people at work so I can about it with them lol.

My favorite characters: Stannis, Jojen and Meera Reed, Oberyn Martell, Asha Greyjoy and after reading the series a second time.... Jamie Lannister.

In terms of things that blew me away?

Hhahaha having to keep up with the politics of "slaver's bay", for one thing.

The fight between the Red Viper and Gregor Clegane

Realizing that I pity the Lannisters almost as much as I used to hate them. All three of them are such sad, sad creatures.

I read every single book back-to-back.
    Absolutely amazing.

Just don't get too attached to any of the characters. Lol.

I don't know if I can find pity for Cersei. I think I hate her more than any other character in the history of the written word! LOL

I just want her to die, die, die!

I’ve read through A Dance with Dragons. Arya is definitely the most interesting character so far for me, though I also liked John Snow, Bran, Tyrion and Jamie Lannister. Daenerys was interesting in the beginning, but it has lost its appeal by the last book.

The Red Wedding is still my favorite part of the series so far. It definitely can be described as WTF?!?! LOL Though after reading A Dance with Dragon, and waiting years to read the supposedly final book in the series, the ending left me wondering where in the world this series is going to go

i've read them all. the major problem w/ the series, is that Martin, in the 1st edition of A Game of Thrones, writes that it will be a trilogy. his lack of self-control permits the series 2 drag on much too long. character development basically stopped by book 3, A Storm of Swords. i still wonder, if he had stuck 2 his original trilogy plan, just how good the series might have been?

Finished all the books so far; however, wasn't a huge fan of the "minor characters" book.

I will say it seems that Martin is falling victim to what other LONG fantasy epics fall to--too many side quests and characters. Yes, Martin kills off characters at whim but they are usually replaced right away.

My favorite moments from the series are as follows (I'll try not to make them too spoiler filled)

    1. The Red Wedding
    2. Cat Stark post Red Wedding
    3. Tyrion's affinty for crossbows
    4. Jon Snow at the end of Dance with Dragons
    5. Quentyn Martell's ability to steal a dragon

why am I the only one who loves watching sansa be groomed into a nasty politicking bitch?

You know she's the next cersei....

I also like watching her slowly go crazy.

Sucks to be a woman in a feudal society!

    Bran FTW.
He's going to be pretty darn awesome when he comes into his own.

A Feast for Crows. Absolutely love the series, even if it's much lesser as far as action and character development goes post Storm of Swords.

i also hate how he's known for killing off major characters...but really...how many have come back? Too many for him to be believable anymore.

I'm worried if I start they'll take over my life - and I haven't got time for them right now. Maybe in the winter when the weather's bad (well, when the weather's worse than it is now)...
