Curiousjock predicted that Fatass Christie wouldn't veto the bill.

Yet another of his Pollyanna fantasy world prognostication proved wrong.

Maybe if he based his predictions on facts and reality rather than right-wing bullshit he wouldn't be wrong so damn often.

Dont know where CJ came up with that - course he lives in Arizona. Well reported here in NJ that he would veto it. And he did. NJ - the state with the first openly gay governor (Jim McGreevey).

Apparently CuriousJock is reading the wrong news sources in Arizona.

Gov. Chris Christie has followed through on his promise to reject a bill allowing same-sex marriage in New Jersey by quickly vetoing the measure...

"It's unfortunate that the governor would let his own personal ideology infringe on the rights of thousands of New Jerseyans," said Reed Gusciora, one of two openly gay New Jersey lawmakers and a sponsor of the bill. "For all those who oppose marriage equality, their lives would have been completely unchanged by this bill, but for same-sex couples, their lives would have been radically transformed. Unfortunately, the governor couldn't see past his own personal ambitions to honor this truth."

Senate Democratic leaders were more blunt in their criticism of the governor.

"He had a chance to do the right thing, and failed miserably," Senate President Steve Sweeney said.

"Don't be fooled by the governor's call for a public referendum or his idea of an ombudsman for civil unions — it is nothing more than a political smoke screen designed to cover the tracks of those retreating from their leadership and lawmaking responsibilities," Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg said. "Civil unions have already proven to be a failure and no ombudsman can change that."

Lawmakers in New Jersey have until the end of the legislative session in January 2014 to override the veto.

They would need two-thirds of the lawmakers in the Assembly and Senate to agree. Both votes to pass it fell short of that mark. Christie has virtually guaranteed that no override would succeed because Republicans wouldn't cross him.

Mr Deco--you've been reported for being a FRAUD and a LIAR-- it's too sad that we can't have people come to RJ and be themselves without having the GESTAPO Deco scrutinize them and scare them away--- For someone who hid in the closet all those years-- Why must you be so judgemental? Do you feel guilty for having lived a LIE for so long?--- But then, you LEARNED how to be a homosexual didn't you? I didn't have to learn---I lived the life of a homosexual--- NEVER pretending to be straight---

I'll go for that. If only it had real authority, to deal with the right-wingers who hijack a thread to prevent discussion of yet another anti-gay action by a Republican lawmaker.

And look who they are: Dean_Aane, alphatrigger, and TrueBlueAussie -

Well, alpha has been known to post intelligent fair-minded comments at times - but the other two are the biggest jokes on RJ.

    Nobody takes them seriously.

    Oh c'mon Bob.

Take a joke for what it's worth.

You have to admit that you did come a cross as a bit of a busybody by drawing attention to how you reported someone for spam.

That sounded like a Reaper/Stuart account (spoofed JPBitchVA account), and Admin is well aware of Stuart's modus operandi.

just report the sad sack when he shows up; no need to make a hero out of yourself over it. icon_smile.gif

    Governor Christie:
It's no secret that disgustingly obese people, such as yourself, make many normal-sized people uncomfortable. The obese have a whole host of serious health problems that society has to pay for. Should obese people have the same civil rights as everyone else? Let's put it to a vote. Let the voters decide if you obese people can live where you want, marry who you want, go where you want. I know you won't object to voters deciding on what civil rights you have or don't have, since you've already endorsed this treatment for gay Americans.

Here is a quotation from the article:

"The Senate approved the bill 24-16 on Monday, with two Republicans in favor. The Assembly vote was 42-33.
The Republican governor returned the bill to the Legislature, saying he wants voters to decide whether New Jersey changes the definition of marriage."

Suppose that blacks in the South had to depend on the voters to decide on slavery. There are some issues on which the voters should not be given a choice. The issue of same-sex marriage is one of those issues.

As for Gov. Christie... disappointing, but not unexpected, especially if he is courting attention for a future POTUS run.

The current crop of Baby Boomers in the GOP in fundamentalist "Christian" or it still have another 10-15 years of prime time to influence and direct policy, so change is coming, albeit slowly.

    Fail.

Mainly because Morbidly Obese-Americans are like what, 68% of the population.

Fit folk would lose in the vote to defund the Twinkie-Corn Syrup Industrial Complex.

Now Fatass Christie can't play both sides of the issue anymore.

He had to pick a side and he chose to ignore the will of the majority of NJ residents - and to reject the fair and equal treatment of all Americans.

He chose to side with the hate-filled anti-gay religious right bigots.

And whether he did it because he himself is a homophobic bigot - or because he's just pandering to the bigoted anti-gay religious right majority of the Repub party - it really doesn't matter.

    Either way he's vile.

    He's either s hate-filled homophobe...
Or he's an extremely ambitious amoral selfish politician who's willing to pander to the religious extremism of bigots in order to try get his lame FAT ass picked to be the 2016 Repub presidential nominee.

His actions are as repulsive as his obese corpulent LARDASS.

FYI - Kiss The Sky's post is a tongue in cheek joke.

And it did not "Fail" to amuse those with a sense of humor.
