How to Listen for Racism on the Campaign Trail

"Judging by these claims, all of which have actually been put forward recently, here is a modest prediction: This presidential election will be one of the most race- soaked in recent history. It is already more race-soaked than the 2008 election, which, of course, marked the first time that a black man became a major-party candidate."

Article is a reminder that the Obama team intends to inject race into the campaign whenever it can. Any criticism of Obama or his policies will be linked to racism in an attempt to stifle such criticism. That game has been played too many times and it won't work this time. The polarization over his policies has nothing to do with race and people know it. These attempts will backfire, only succeeding in antagonizing moderates, who could vote either way, while rallying the base, already committed leftists.
