Hey. Stumbling across this site reminded me of how IRC chat stuff was back in the day. Anybody here a part of that early online crowd?

I got my first PC in 1992, and I was on Prodigy and various BBS's. One BBS I was on started carrying some of the Usenet newsgroups, and that was my entry into the Internet. For the first few years, I didn't have local Internet access, so I hung out on the newsgroups with an offline newsreader, dialing long distance into my shell account to upload/download SOUP packets. In 1995 I finally got local Internet access, and I started hanging out on IRC.

I was on IRC all the time back in the days. You can say I was addicted to it. I still sign onto it once in a while, but nobody is ever there. Honestly, I prefer chatting in a chat-room than posting on forums..

I was part of #gaymuscle and loved chatting on IRC in the early days! And.. actually was one of the two guys who kept the Gaymuscle Gallery going for years (shut down a year or so ago - had run its course.) I was the programmer and business guy behind the scenes, while Gaary did all the webmastering and public stuff. icon_biggrin.gif
