It seems like a lot of guys on RJ do crossfit. I was wondering who is doing the Open starting this week? http://games.crossfit.com/

It would be interesting to have folks post their times/scores on here as some healthy competition. Maybe also pictures from the events?

For those competing, good luck and have fun.

    Cheers.

Here's a video from last year's week three workout:

Doing the CF Open here as well and stoked for the WODs and seeing your scores too... I wish there was a way to network on the games website so we could see how other RJ CF guys are doing.

I am sure you will rock out your workouts.

Funny, decided to check out what people were saying on RJ as I get ready to do my first WOD - 12.1 burpees in 7 mins. at my local affiliate.
Excited and nervous, but looking forward to it as a first time participant.

Deffo going to the games finals in Carson, CA at HomeDepot this year.
My partner and I are likely to be spectators only - but who knows!icon_lol.gif

    WOD 12.1
    AMRAP in 7 minutes:
    Burpees

95 - I'm only doing this one once. Definitely didn't give it my all and am a little disappointed. Need to buckle down and go hard during these workouts but did this one at 0600 without much sleep....not smart. Live and learn.

Got through first attempt with 84, then did a second today (Sunday) and got 103. - killer
It's likely to be my only 'good' WOD of the games, but it was a blast to be part of it. Congrats to you guys to on your scores!... It was pretty tough, but good first WOD to get people on board.

The next WOD is out and it looks like a good one. I'm guessing most people won't get out of the second round. Good luck guys.

Proceed through the sequence below completing as many reps as possible in 10 minutes of:
    75 pound Snatch, 30 reps
    135 pound Snatch, 30 reps
    165 pound Snatch, 30 reps
210 pound Snatch, as many reps as possible

Thought it would be a little easier than it was. Wound up with 50 reps. Pretty sure I could get a handful more so I'm going to do it again on Saturday. Why not? It was a really fun WOD.

Rested too much between attempts at 135lbs after blasting through the 75lbs but didn't want to miss any. I think this keeps me right around the middle of the pack worldwide.

    Anyone else do it?

Doing it today, and nervous actually. I am not really good at snatches.

got 33... but score is 31, coaches being strict on the score. icon_eek.gif

Never snatched that 2nd round weight before, plenty of attempts before I got the first... think I may try again on Sunday, after a little recovery! icon_biggrin.gif

Good job guys on your scores!

I got 30, attempted the 135# bar but couldn't get it overhead... I am proud of my work tho, it was solid and I gave it my all. Good work my CF studs.

    WOD 12.1 - 73
    WOD 12.2 - 51

I tried 12.2 again yesterday and got really beat up. Snatches take too much neurologically...

North East regional rank right now is 2456. Ugh...

12.2 was designed for an easy failure. If you make the 165 you have just spent all your energy on 60 previous snatches.

    12.1 118
    12.2 62

    Ranked 261 Northeast

I'm going to be doing all of the open WODs in a few months again. I don't see myself being a major competitor in the next year or two, but it's fun to see my progress. I'm wondering when the advanced moves are going to appear. Could be anything...weighted pull-ups? Pistols? HSPUs?

The more advanced the move the more room for error in scoring. Movements like a HSPU can have such a variation in the range of motion and it can be difficult to judge if the movement was executed correctly. Also keep in mind that many have to submit scores on video so the full range of motion has to be easily captured there as well.

    12.1: 95
    12.2: 50

That puts me at 1506 in the region, which is right about where I'd hoped to be (i.e., top of the third quartile).

I don't think we'll see too many complex movements. My guess is we'll get a chipper soon or something that's really long. Seems like they're trying really hard to make sure everyone can complete the workout or at least a significant part of it. I doubt we'll see anything out of a rack (didn't last year either) or anything too complex. They did have muscle ups last year but only after a really long sequence of other stuff to spread people out and make it so no one felt crappy about not getting one.

I'm still waiting/hoping for heavy deadlifts and some box jumps or maybe clean and jerks though I doubt we'll go overhead again.

    12.1 (71)
    12.2 (30)

Puts me at 2086 in my region which is low end of middle range... I can bust thru the metcons the power lifts are what get to me... but overall a great and fun experience...

Though I think you have to be a math major to figure out the mess the leader boards are.

Good point. Then I'm thinking weighted pull-ups. I'm really hoping for a WOD with rowing and double-unders. I also think wall climbs might make an appearance.
