I don't know why, even though it's way early.

I scanned this from my stuff and if you can name it, you're a keeper.

For those of you wondering it's not 1st Cornet or anything, it's just Bb Trumpet.

After the 7 measure rest at F is my favorite part. Very Jazzy feeling.

I'm finally getting to the point where the songs "Umbrella" and "Apologize" don't get stuck in my head after hearing them. Actually, I try to turn them away when I hear them on the radio so to avoid the issue.

This song is not on the radio. Well I'm sure it may be on a certain stations.. maybe.

I don't think I cannot keep songs out of my head even if I tried.

I'll bet, like me, that most here never learned to read charts. If you can post a link to an audio version, you'll get more responses, I think.

Why the hell would that be stuck in your head? And did you have to make a guess? By just reading the name of the song, it got stuck in my head. Then to make matters worse I tried the little music reading that I know and sure enough!! Then to verify, found a link to the music http://www.leroyanderson.com/la-mp3/sleigh-ride.mp3.

Dammit!! Evil! I say, Eeeeeville! Get it out! Get it out! I'd rather have something from Moo-dona's new album stuck in my head. Get it out!!

JANET JACKSON I NEED YOU! YOU'RE MY ONLY HOPE!

    You are correct! you win!

And Auryn, the reason it was stuck in my head, is because when I was cleaning out my room, I found one of my music folders and when I picked it up, this piece fell out! It's one of my favorite songs, and so I got it stuck in my head after that.

Well that's better than some of the crap that gets stuck in my head.

I guess having a little Christmas in July never hurt.icon_biggrin.gif My reaction was because it got stuck in my head, and I've learned that in order to get a song out of my head, I have to get it in someone else's. So, I got it stuck in my boyfriend's head. Oh, sweet victory. mmmmm

    ROFLMAO, that's just evil Auryn.

P.S. I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus! Underneath the mistletoe last night. She didn't see me creep, downstairs to have a peep. She thought that I was tucked up in my bedroom fast asleep! Then I saw... icon_twisted.gif

I should have just scrolled down.
I read the music and I kept thinking, why does he have the trumpet part to "Sleigh Ride" running through his head. (Especially when I just had Bugler's Holiday running through mine.)

    OMG Bugler's Holiday!

I haven't thought of that since high school.

I was first trumpet, and as a Leo, I have an ego the size of Cleveland (which I struggle to keep in check), so performing Bugler's Holiday was pretty much as close to band ecstasy as I could get.

Then, the summer before college, I had my wisdom teeth removed, and after about 6 months of complications with that, my trumpeting career was over. But I have my Bugler's Holiday memories.

    Sigh.

Oh, and PS, I've found that first trumpet players I've met consistently have egos the size of Cleveland -- regardless of astrological sign.

Uh oh, I sense a geeky thread on typical personalities of various instrument players right around the corner...

Yes, that would be an interesting study, Kurtsytoons.

Pianists are individualists--we don't need orchestras to accompany us. We also tend to the debonair.

The harp is introspective, and the man who plays one has a deep reservoir of soul. This makes him utterly swoonworthy.

Of course a trumpeter has an enormous--er--ego, he is playing the most insistent and loud instrument in the orchestra. It shrieks "LOOK AT ME" with every note.

How true. There aways seemed to be a trumpet player who I'd be drawn to who was soooo cool and yet always had an ego that canceled out every bit of that coolness. Now the percussionists.... woah!

Solo violinist - always from another planet.

Pianist, can't be beat. I guy with a look like a character in the 'Outer Limits' when he sits at the Piano and plays a little Chopin, or Ravel, I'm hooked!

Woah indeed. I've sung with many symphony orchestras. The chorus is always at the back, right behind the percussionists. Not only are they almost always nice people, but they--and this is purely empirical, but true anyway--all have asses to die for.

This has been really refreshing! I'm glad to know I'm not the only former band nerd out here! (Alto sax, though, not trumpet; but I recognized "Sleigh Ride" from the sheet music, too.) What I can't explain though is why the song I can't get out of my head right now is "Save the Last Dance For Me" by Michael Buble...?
