I've decided I want to add swimming to my fitness routine. It's been years since I've done it, but always enjoyed it. I'm trying to decide which club/pool to join and wondered if any San Diegans here had an opinion.

My two closest options from home are the Mission Valley YMCA or The Plunge at Belmont Park. I work in north county coastal, though. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I think there is a new 24 hour fitness sport north of mission valley. It probably has a brand new pool. I lift weights for an hour at mine in long beach and then swim for 45 min after to keep the weight down. I used to do treadmills or elliptical but swimming is more fun and no impact to legs unless you push off the walls too much.

I know this is a ways away from Mission Valley but the Coronado City pool is very nice. It also has the long trail down to OB so you could prep for a sprint tri fairly easy using one facility.
