I'm going there to help my brother move next week. What is there to do both at night and during the day?

What is there NOT to do? The city is beautiful and friendly, the weather perfect. I have been there about 15 times, and every month of the year, in the early 2000s. There is something for everyone. Hang gliding was my favorite.

As a British backpacker I stopped at San Diego twice, in 1995 and again in 1997. I absolutely loved the city and it environs. Other than the Zoo, Sea World, Balboa Park, the Gaslamp District and such fine climate, Mission Beach, a little north of the city, is worth stopping at as is the Old Town Heritage Park, with its excellent bazzar market.
Furthermore, a few miles north is the town of La Jolla, where I had a swim in the sea along its cove among limestone cliffs and its caves.
In the opposite direction from the city, a trolley tram took me to San Ysidro, from where I was able to walk into Tijuana, Mexico.
Of all the places I called at in the USA, I rate San Diego as #1, along with the Grand Canyon.

Not great beach weather. It's only suppose to be over 70 one day while I'm there.

I loved Daygo, my favorite city in California now, the people are so friendly there. I'm just disappointed I didn't get to go to TJ. I really wanted to go, but my brother stopped right at the border. But San Diego is such a great city!

Not very gay - the San Diego Zoo (Zoo Safari Park) 20 miles north - near Escondido.
