Daily Caller counts how many times Rachel Maddow said "vagina" in February

In case anyone was wondering if this is anything more than a vanity project of the formerly bow-tied Tucker Carlson, I offer the following evidence that suggesting this is a journalism site requires complete suspension of disbelief.

Daily CallerLast week, Republican Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell backed off provisions in a bill that may have required women to undergo a “transvaginal ultrasound” if they chose to have an abortion.

Opponents of those provisions may have MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow to thank for helping to scuttle them.

During the episodes of “The Rachel Maddow Show” that aired between February 14 and February 24, Maddow repeatedly attacked the bill, uttering the words “vaginal” or “vagina” 58 times.

    Here’s the daily tally:

    February 14 4
    February 15 9
    February 16 2
    February 17 0
    February 20 5
    February 21 1
    February 22 14
    February 23 5
    February 24 18
    TOTAL: 58

Maddow’s dramatic use of the word is eerily similar to former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann’s use of the word “Sir” before he left the network and moved to Current TV.

I'm not sure how a pundit would cover a bill mandating a transvaginal sonogram without saying the word "vagina" fairly often.

Of course, being a right-wing site there are bunch of predictably homophobic comments

    Sheesh she's a Lesbian

Saying that word is like a Pavlovian response

Plus have Tucker try covering that story without saying the V word

They do much more useful reporting. But agree that covering a truly insignificant network with its tiny ratings is not useful. DC covering them probably gave them much more visibility, especially to the mainstream, than their little programs.

No it doesn't get under my skin, but I do enjoy belittling them. The only time I ever see the network in the locker room when someone probably alone puts it on. Doesn't stay on long though. Someone will quickly change it to CNBC or Fox Business. I think most in my gym are successful or at least have a success attitude you see. icon_lol.gif
