So... I have had this question for a LONG TIME! so I guess an advice from here wouldnt hurt.

Me and my ex were together for 3 and half years. We lived together for like 3 years. but you know things didnt work out and its been a year since we broke up. Most of the services were under my name, actually all of them. I know he has been responsable and paying for them (cable, telephone and internet)

I am planning on canceling the cellphone and internet when the contract is up (which is around June, and I obviously dont need his permission to do that) but the cable contract expired a while ago. I need to tell him that I wanna cancel it, but he needs to agree so they can go to the apartment and remove the equipment. I know for sure he will get upset and might not agree to do it since he has been paying for it. I just dont feel comfortable with it. I dont know what to do. We havent talked in like 5 months.

Uh, so just have it transferred to his name... you still need to talk to him about it, but I doubt he will get angry.

Why is he paying for a cable service he isnt using? and once more why would he be upset if you cancel said service he is paying for and not using?

I think a good plan is to tell your ex that you are cancelling all utilties in your name next Friday and he needs to contact the utilty companies and get signed up to avoid interruption in service.

At least, you can't be faulted for protecting your own credit record.
