    Yep,

Vancouver fucking sucks to get a job in, high costs and low minimum wage.

Places often turn you ay for being overqualified and wanting to give the job to those who need it more.

Which you know, as an unemployed 20 year old student with no savings and mounting bills, would, maybe, be me. Isay this seeing who they hire lol.

    unemployed*

Also, sort of. I do research and write independently for a living. All my money comes from donations from people who support my writing and my book project, and I make a couple extra dollars doing a weekly podcast show.

I'm from Vancouver, spent most of my life there, and I love it, but it's murder to survive.

In fact, it was recently pointed out that Vancouver is the "most expensive city to live in across North America," that is, including New York and LA.

That's what my friend did, Chainers. She was waaay overqualified for the jobs she wanted so she decided to go back to school and work the system. Nothing wrong with doing that if you can do it.

Well it sucks, the only people who want to hire me are financial advisor positions, which I just left and dont want. Today I had an interview to be an office manager, and the person told me "well, you seem qualified, I just dont think you are going to be happy here given your previous history."

    Grrr, fml!

Pretty sure there is a 24 Hour Fitness in Houston. They're all hiring because people transfer and move alot. Look into it. Front desk isn't that hard. haha

    "good morning."

    "see ya later"

"Thank you for calling 24 Hour Fitness how can I help you."

Seriously I get paid to do that and free gym membership.

Ouch! They actually said that? That's sucks, man.

Well you do have the option of going back to school so that's a start. What would you go back to school for?

MBA and probably a Joint degree in law too. I think I want to do corporate marketing, and to be fair I did work for one of the top financial advisory firms in the country, as well as develop systems and concepts for financial planning for domestic partners. On top of that, my GPA is well above the average for every top 25 school, which means I should be able to get into almost any MBA school.

I'm underemployed... but I blame my degree field. "English" is so generic that all one basically says when you have my degrees is "Ah: he sat through 6 years of school."
