Why are YOU popular on RJ?

Sometimes on here I feel like a talented performer who can't sell any records. (Not the best analogy since no one buys records any more but you get the idea.)

I don't usually seek validation on online forums but I was wondering what the secrets to RJ popularity are. Acerbic wit with or without abs rule, but for those of us with neither what are we do to? Comment on other people's photos? Chat? Cam? What's YOUR secret to RJ popularity?

You're asking how to be popular if one is neither cut nor funny?

He's asking RJ a serious question?

Yep. Plus how to be popular if even cut and funny doesn't cut it! I'm trying to figure out if it's random or if there's some type of "X factor." I now yield the floor to those with greater expertise so that we may all learn. Share your reasons for your RJ popularity (perceived and otherwise!).

It depends on the sense in which you want to be popular, honestly.

I'm not sure in what sense I'm popular except that I seem like a nice guy people can talk to.

Other people are popular because they have a sharp sense of humor and super high post count.

Others are popular because they're stunning to look at and fap to.

But at the same time, I don't think there are a lot of people who are broadly popular with everyone. Unless I'm mistaken?

It brings all the boys to the yard.

And damn right, it's better than yours.

What are the conditions by which one is deemed popular? Frequent posting doesn't mean that you're liked by many. A few come to mind.

This is true. No one is universally popular. The people who are popular tend to be popular only with other people who share the same interests (or sense of humor or whatever). Some of the most popular people are loved by some and hated by others.

There is no use trying to explain it.

I'm not talking about getting infamous by trolling, or asking how to be MOTD (now there's a topic that's been beaten to death). I mean your threads getting high views and your forum comments getting frequent comments and quotes.

In retrospect I suspect that if my first post in this thread had been simply "Go!" there'd have been double the responses by now.

Post count and thread reads doesn't equal popularity. I have a higher post count because I banter with a handful of people. I'm certainly not popular.

Again, there's no one reason. Some topics are "popular" because they have useful information. Some topics get a lot of reads because they are entertaining. Some topics get a lot of attention because they spark a heated argument.

Regardless of the scenario, a lot of posts get overlooked because there's a lot going on. I don't think it's intentional that some people get ignored. You can't take it personally.
