have large penises? I just got IM'd out of nowhere on here about 10minutes ago. Guy was fairly attractive(im being nice) and
    he says hi or whatever.

    I say hi back.

His second question was "so is it true"?

And I said " what do you mean"?

he says " that you are hung like a horse"?

    I say "haha"

He says "thats not an answer"

I say " nor will you get an answer"

I say" Where did you hear that, or are you just asking the stereotype"?

He says " No by your build i asked"

I say " thats personal information and btw if it was about my build your question would have been worded different and you would have approached the question in an entirely different way"

    He says "Bye Bitch"

    I say "Bye Messy".

    I was VERY offended!

Now i will not reveal this persons screenname because im not that way but this brings up a valid question. Is that stereotype still going around about African American Men? Also people that respond to this thread tell me.... Do you believe in that stereotype?

Any Body think I was wrong?

I agree with how you handles the situation, and i have fallen prey to that stereotype as well, to the point that the person was almost disappointed that i wasnt 8 or better

    Better yet...

Why do Men always think ASIAN Men have small penises? ROFL

I assure you, I may not be hung, but I'm not small either. And in all my life here in the Philippines, I've only seen one dick I could classify as small, and it was one of my friends with a case of Gigantism (he's the biggest guy icon_rolleyes.gif in our class... with a 4 inch dick icon_razz.gif).

Yeah this myth does suck. As a student of african american studies, i can tell u, this was a myth created in part to differentiate "negroes" from other races. the thought behind it was that blacks were driven by there sexual appetite, not by intellect, hence blacks had lower IQ's and less of an ability to learn but had huge dicks because they were sexual beasts. this is a topic that has been researched and written about for years. i get upset when this myth is exploited because one, we all are not horse hung, we are not the only race horse hung and more importantly it continues to drive that idea that we are wild sexual beasts that dont know how to use a brain.

The funny thing about any stereotype is that it's typically based on two pieces of information. First there is the truth regarding an attribute (whether physical, behavioral or cultural) on which the stereotype is based. The second is that this attribute is actually diametric to the norm. The issue then becomes one of sweeping generalization based on a small portion of the subject population.
For example, drag queens are a group that obviously and blatantly diffrentiates themselves from the norm, and since most drag queens are gay, the common view is that therefor most gays are drag queens.
If we all look at ourselves and consider the groups that we are part of (culture, race, sexual orientation. etc.), there are attributes and choices that you make that meet or don't a stereotype of the group.
I started a forum on this a while back:

    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/105579/

Regardless of what aspects you have that are against the stereotype, people almost always make the connection of the stereotypical attributes you have no matter how trivial. This even happens withing the communities of people of a particular group.

Porn contributes to it a bit. Less so now, but there used to be very little demand for black men. So when you did need one you had your pick of the applicants. The porn consumer sees a handful of black men who pander to their fantasies with massive cocks. Falsely confirming their beliefs.

And the Asian myth is just baloney, made up by FDR at the height of anti-Japanese sentiment.

I'm glad you handled the situation tastefully. I personally hate the expression "hung like a horse" or "horse-hung" in context to black ethnicity, as it seems to connote animalistic or primal behavior. Black men are reduced to emotionless sex hounds. My sentiments echo GobB's comments.

There is some element of truth to black men. I've been with a little more than a handful and they have all been big. However, I've been with more whites than any other minority, and most of them have been on the large side as well. This distinction along racial lines also depends on one's personal definition of big or hung.

I don't take things like this too personally. I realize there's a lot of cultural ignorance out there. The best thing to do is to hit that BLOCK button!

yes, the stereotype persists unfairly- though its kind of a known fact that a lot of stereotypes are at least based on reality. obviously, all black men are not necessarily hung- but from what i've seen in porn, read in statistics, and heard from friends, i'd venture to say its at least based on a wider truth than what one can expect to see represented in every individual. that guy sounds like a douche though- who starts a conversation with that? i've had guys try it with me- their opening line, after 'hey,' is invariably 'wanna cam?' or 'so how big r u?' and the conversation never gets any farther. i don't mind discussing things of a sexual nature after a long while of talking to someone, but right off the bat? that's just tasteless and rude. sorry u had to experience that redsox.

That's part of it. The stereotype actually reveals more about the people (men, generally) who created it. Like the myth of black racial inferiority, which only started to get its bogus scientific veneer AFTER the end of the Civil War, the myth of black sexual abandon grew both as an excuse to control the black population, whom the white slaveowners feared (whites were seriously outnumbered in many parts of the South, and in some parts still are), and also as a reflection of their own social inadequacy.

It is interesting to study: before the Civil War, the "justifications" for slavery were often biblical, rarely "scientific". Afterwards, with official slavery abolished, the power structure needed some other reason to keep the blacks subjugated for economic reasons. But Jim Crow laws could not simply be passed for the hell of it, there had to be a franework of pseudo-science that would permit them to claim that these laws were a good and necessary social policy. This is about the time that "eugenics" and other pseudo-scientific proofs of racial inferiority gained wide acceptance, along with the myth of black sexual voracity. This last myth led directly to the lynching laws, which were almost always applied under the pretext of "saving our women".

Note the way the right-wing's current lies about us follow the same formula: that we are sexually voracious, that we are genetically inferior (remember Dr. Laura? "biological error"?) and that we are sinners. This combines both the pseudo-science and the biblical.

The fun never stops for these people.

Ahhh the age old "Mandingo" theory. Gotta love (hate) it. Truth is, most black men are like all other races of men. Some have large penises some have small. Not all of us are blessed with 9.5 inches of sexual thunder to work with.

    Some of us are.

Anytime Red someone approaches you in this manner tell them it is 28 inches(but 3 centimeters thick( or 2 inches(but 12 inches thick). This will at least get the person on the other end (hopefully) to realize that you are a person first and a penis 276th (right after the pinky toe but before your left eye).

I personally VEHEMENTLY HATE when online talking to someone I find remotely interesting and then he asks me about my penis in the first convo.

It's like can't I get a dinner out of this before we discuss my anatomy? icon_smile.gif

Well that part of the male anatomy has never been a deal breaker for me so I don't really care as long as SOMETHING is there. If it was smaller then my pinky then it was a turn off.

Supposedly on average there is a difference between the "races" but it is not very much, and the variances within members of the same race can be tremendous.

I do know one caucasion friend who would focus on black men when he was single mainly because of that stereotype. He insists there is truth to it, but I have never bothered to do my own in-depth, hands on research study.

I honestly hate it in ANY part of the conversation. Your dick size has nothing to do with the quality of man it's attached to. That and we should all know by now, that there are men of ALL ethnicities that are well-endowed. Just ridiculous.

I wouldn't say a complete myth and the reason being is most myths have some factual basis. The myth blacks are hung is probably based off of a studies of average cock sizes in which a tribe in Africa holds the largest average of 12".

From experience blacks range in sizes as much as any other race, though Chinese tend to be on the smaller end of the spectrum, which is probably where the stereotype of Asians being small comes in to play.

All my college buddies wanted to see my penis for the longest time. They wanted to see if I was down to my kneeicon_rolleyes.gif. I just told them everyone has different sizes. Sure there are some black guys that are big....but some are small. Just like all races.

Ok so a myth has nothing to do with truth but everything to do with ignorance (the condition of being uninformed or uneducated, lacking knowledge or information) and uncertainty...So from my personal experiences with black and white men (both sexual and non sexual-I have been in sports all my life so I have seen my fair share), I have seen more above average white men than black men. Every study I have been able to find shows that there is no significant difference in size. I it is something like 6.2 inches (white male average) to 6.3 inches (black male average).
It absolutely drives me nuts when someone asks to "have my big black" piece or if we are "all hung like horses?" or if my being of mixed heritage gave me a "black or white sized penis?" .
It's not a compliment, and doesn't sound sexy...at all. It's a racist remark that shows a lack of class and knowledge. I could go on and on...but I will spare you all.
