Mitt Romneycare has been claiming that while he still supports Romneycare - the MA state HCR plan that he signed into law (that includes the individual mandate) - he OPPOSES Obamacare - the federal HCR plan (that includes the same individual mandate).

Romneycare and Obamacare are virtually identical HCR laws - but Romney has tried to justify the fact that he both supports AND oppposes THE SAME LAW - by claiming that he supports the law at the state level but opposes it at the federal level.

    It's a lame excuse - but it's all he's got.

Now Romney 's lame excuse has been exposed for the LIE it is.

In July 2009 - as President Obama and the Democrats were working on crafting the HCR plan that would become Obamacare - Mitt Romneycare wrote a USA TODAY op-ed urging newly elected President Obama to INCLUDE the individual mandate in Obamacare!

    http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/03/romney-urged-obama-to-embrace-individual-mandate-in-2009.php?m=1

In 2009 Romney WANTED Obamacare to include the individual mandate AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL.

Now that the Repub party HATES the individual mandate and Romney is trying to get the Repub nomination - Romney is LYING about where he stands on the individual mandate.

Now that Romney's own words from the 2009 op-ed have come back to haunt him - the Repub party will have NO advantage on this issue if Romney is the nominee.

But, never fear, the Right Wing spin doctors will make it all better. And then we'll be hearing the new & improved talking points here as soon as they get released. icon_razz.gif

Whatever excuse Romney comes up with for this will just be seen as yet another of his infamous FLIP-FLOPS.

Because that's exactly what it will be!

Judging by what I've seen a few RJ republicans post, I have a feeling that if Mitt was in the White House he could, for example, enact completely communist agendas and they'd slurp it up because it came from a Republican.

    LOL
    Sad but true.

After making Obamascare the centerpiece of the Repub's 2010 campaign strategy - the Repubs will have to completely drop the issue in the 2012 campaign.

(IF Mitt Romneycare is the nominee)

Which will be a humongous FLIP-FLOP by the Repub party.
But you're right - our RJ Repub friends will look the other way.

Maybe Mitt can use his money to track down and destroy every copy of the USA Today that his editorial appeared in. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Facts are such inconvenient things... poor Mitt is going to have his hands full explaining away all his flip flops over the years.
One of my favorites -- that hasn't blown up in the media yet -- is the fact that he attended a Planned Parenthood fundraiser in the 90s and his wife wrote a check to the pro-choice organization -- which the Republicans consider Satan incarnate.

From what I have observed over many months, most of the folks who might be described as fiscal conservatives, have discussed issues extensively. These folks have also discussed at times problems with specific Republicans. In fact, many of the liberals, progressives, or socialists here have expressed pleasure that there has been little cheerleading for certain, specific candidates, assuming it meant a weak field. I find your comment to be totally false and one of the stupidest things I've read here, and that is saying a lot. Hopefully it was only an extremely weak attempt at humor, or maybe you posted it in a fit of pique. One guy in particular has been getting you very upset. Maybe you are just lashing out at him.

In 2008 that was before President Obama came out with his support OF THE REPUBLICAN LED IDEA. ...........

But since President Obama HAS put his support behind it it is MANDATORY for any republican ..... even the man who instituttionalized it as Governor
    To demonize it

Don't forget that the minority leader in the Senate has stated that his number one priority is to unseat President Obama as President ......
Not to serve his home state or be a Senate leader but to fight his President on everything he does
It does not matter what President Obama does ...... Good or bad all republicans will take the other position

Saw the comment before and ignored it. Too silly. Most or all of the fiscally conservative guys here are strongly issue driven. I pointed out agreement to Pres Clinton's comments about not raising taxes because I agreed with him.

Sweeping comment. I occasionally quote from NY Times, and just a couple of days ago I linked to an article from the Huffington Post, saying I was not a fan of them but impressed that they ran a particular article. So your point is full of holes to put it mildly, and to put it factually, is baseless and false.

No it isn't. Would you like me to start digging up topics? One comes to mind where I referenced an article in America Today, which in turn had referenced an article from a site associated with ultra left wing. Your comments were amusing, and solely focused on the source. You stated something to effect of
"I'm out of here." on any topic where info came from such a left wing (or was it communist?) source.

Is that what you come up with? It certainly stung, didn't it. It was from the Summer 2010, you made a totally absurd point, quoting a source that was an organ of the Communist Party. My comment at the time pertained both to your point and the source.

Not at all. It was very amusing. There's other times I could bring up as well, but thought that sufficient.

Sometimes it appears you think the topic you're on and your current posts are all there is. However, history there is much of. icon_lol.gif

You find meninlove's correct observation re: the blind unquestioning knee-jerk support that you RJ Repubs give to the Repub party line - to be "totally false and one of the stupidest things" you've read on the blog threads here?

    LMFAO!!!!!

Boy oh boy - you truly do take the cake for the title of MOST DELUSIONAL RJ member!

And what nonsense to accuse meninlove of being angry and "very upset".
I'd say that meninlove's posts are always notably calm and mild tempered.
For you to claim to see any anger is just more delusional imaginings on your part.
