This reminds me of a man I saw the other day on CNN Heroes who's helping to rebuild the coral reefs. It's a great project.

The men and woman aboard the Steve Irwin and the Bob Barker are militant. Greenpeace doesn't stop the whaling like they do. These guys put themselves right in the middle.

TBH I fucking hate Greenpeace. Part of me would love to battle them on the seas and blow their crappy boats up with cannonballs filled with glitter/napalm.

I'm sure their a REALLY nice bunch though. icon_biggrin.gif

If 90% of the big fish are gone, does this mean the ocean is a safer place for surfers now? icon_razz.gif

I am actually taking Oceanography right now at my university, and I just read the chapter that covered these environmental problems concerning global warming and the implications of greenhouse gases, particularly CO2.

CO2 interacts with the ocean by combining with water to form carbonic acid, which then becomes bicarbonate, in the process releasing positively charged hydrogen ions. These hydrogen cations are directly responsible for the acidity of water; indeed, measuring them defines a water's pH level. With the excessive amounts of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the acidity of the ocean's waters is increasing at an alarming rate, and many aquatic creatures have a very low tolerance for varying pH levels. icon_sad.gif

The trash is a problem. Yes.

But the overfishing is the main issue according to your film. I know because I wrote a research paper on it. I asked the meat eaters in class if they would consider switching to a more civilized diet and none of them said yes.
