Does anyone else dance?

I dance with my school's musical theatre troupe in our shows revues, which contain numbers from both musicals and mainstream music, and I've been pretty pleasantly surprised with how in shape it's kept me! It's definitely a lighter workout when you're just learning the choreography, but the last 2-3 weeks of the semester, when it's just running it over and over, consistently kick my ass into shape. This semester I'm in 4 ridiculously intense dances, one of which has 7 insane lifts crammed into 4 minutes. Rehearsal for that the day after arms at the gym was probably one of my worst decisions of all time, honestly. icon_lol.gif

I know it's not considered the most "manly/masculine" of the fitness activities, but as a rather musically inclined person, I've found it to be easily my most enjoyable form of exercise. My troupe is doing Chicago next semester, so I'm hoping to get a big dancing role in that.

It's also pretty nice to know good ways to move it at the club. icon_wink.gif

So, anyone else into it? Whether a class at the gym for cardio, ballroom, musical theatre, hip-hop, jazz, ballet, etc.

I used to be a dancer - studied at Berkeley Ballet and at Debbie Reynolds Studio's in Hollywood. I was in the best shape of my life then!! I think dance and swimming are two of the best, if not the best, workouts. Not only do they kick your ass into shape but they are a hell of a lot of fun. I live about an hour away from Hollywood now and there aren't any good studios up here, but I'm thinking of moving back. When/if I do I will for sure get back into a studio.

Dancing at clubs is the ONLY form of exercise I get really. I love it to bits and boy does it work up a sweat.

I've had a few people come up to me asking if I was an actual 'dancer' at clubs which was a nice compliment.

V jealous of you guys who have studied professional dance and also dancers have by far the sexiest bodies, YUM YUM YUM.

Yeah he's awesome. Your post reminded me of the amazing choreography he did for Inside Out off Femme Fatale. Shame she never shot a video for it, song is insane ! Starts at 0.30.

Been dancing since I was 4!

I really considered going to school for it, but ultimately decided it wasn't a career with realistic longevity.

Beyonce straight up stole her Dance For You music video choreography from the JayPride Bedroom Tour performances of that song. I'm still considering suing ha. icon_lol.gif

A couple years of ballet, a sprinkling of jazz and modern, and just recently started some Latin/Ballroom. I freestyle hip hop, although I'd like to dance with a group/crew at some point.

Dance is a pretty comprehensive form of exercise, although I don't think most guys tend to bulk up very much on dance alone. I think it tends to leave you more of a sleek build, as opposed to a more muscled build, but everyone reacts differently I suppose.
