This is a slightly odd article, but rather odd nonetheless. I chose to put it here since, well, it is news after all. I find this MD's claims rather odd... considering that wheat is still hyped up to be the purported weight loss aide for most people yet he's completely undoing all of that.

    .
Wheat is not unhealthy. The bigger problem is overeating or (Celiac Disease-which is rare). While there are several hormones which protect the body against low plasma glucose levels, Insulin is the only hormone regulating storage of fuel sources and high plasma glucose levels because historically, excess of food has not been a big problem for most humans.

Most of what this person has written is giving into fad and then making unsupported assertions.

The only people who truly have a problem with wheat and gluten are people with Celiac disease. After that you can associate whatever problems you want with wheat.

Getting fat comes from ingesting excess calories. Usually couples with low/no/inadequate physical inactivity.

You can avoid wheat and any other types of 'fat' food items but if you intake more calories than you expend, you will get fat irrespective of the food source.
