Don't these things always hit? And doesn't the media always panic about it? And doesn't it always amount to nothing? icon_biggrin.gif

Not always nothing, but often next to nothing or something that we can all easily cope with. It can disrupt telecommunications, for example. Change routes of planes e.g. avoidance of polar routing, which can add a lot of time to flights. One case I remember knocked our a big piece of the Hydro Québec power grid for a while, and that has happened elsewhere, too.

But yeah, it tends to be over-hyped.

When I first read the thread title I thought it said "SOLAR FLAME COMING" and that you were talking about a flame war brewing somewhere on the forum, huahuahauha.

I'm making a roast chicken tonight. What time should I stand outside with the bird in a pan?

I'm standing in my backyard covered in suntan lotion, waiting. When is this thing going to happen? This is Michigan. I'm getting cold.

It IS cold. My chicken is starting to re-freeze.

Say! You could add some deep heating rub that that suntan lotion!

I think I might have a tube of BenGay, so I'll try that. I wish I had a really huge microwave bacon cooker to lay on and get brown and crispy quick when this happens. I wanna be as cooked as your chicken.

If you were able to come on over we could wait outside together and share a bottle or two of adult beverages. THAT'LL get us cooked!

Michigan is one of the states where we have that luxury, but I'm willing to give it a sniff in Canada with a couple nice gentlemen from BC.

where in the hell is Art Deco's post on this subject? I've stopped everything at work waiting for it.....

Does Wilton Manor have bunkers to hide in for this type of apocalypic scenario?

    Is he in it?
