Had anyone tried downloading this yet? Any bad experiences?

I usually wait a while to see if people have problems with it. I'm hoping it will improve battery life.

I have had no issues upgrading to iOS 5.1. I've had issues almost every time I've graded and this time nothing. :-)

Supposedly the software allows mirroring with my iPad 2 and AppleTV. I'm still trying to figure it out.

If anyone knows how to get that working, let me know. icon_wink.gif

    No problems,

But the best thing you can do to improve battery life in your iOS devices is to let them drain the battery about once a month, then charge it back up - I think it's in the liner notes someplace.

Works fine ............... EXCEPT, if you're inclined to update any iPad 1, I wouldn't recommend it.

Do some checking, because various forums are replete with issues, but 5.1 and iPad 1 do not make for a happy combination, with the principal complaint (and I experience this as well) ............. being repeated crashes of Safari (and, most likely, any browser). Having just ordered 3, I guess I won't soon have to deal with this, but it really is a problem for many. In my case, it's been reasonably tolerable in that I've been experiencing intermittent crashes, but there are many just can no longer connect to the Internet with any reliability or stability. I have friends who have experiences these same issues as well, so I know for a fact that it's not just me. So, at least in the case of iPad 1, I wish I had left well enough alone and would not recommend this upgrade.

I updated my iPhone 4S and iPad 2 to iOS 5.1 tonight. I had some error messages when I loaded the new iTunes for the first time. I also had an error because I tried to update both devices at the same time. None of the errors were critical. Both devices seem to be working fine so far.

Note on the improved battery life...

I started watching movies on Netflix at 11:30 this morning. At 9:45, I'm still watching and my battery says 36%. WOW!

My battery life on my 4S was terrible, I updated to 5.1 and I noticed a HUGE difference. I have not charged my phone since friday and I am only at 76%. Before I would charge my phone every other day. I did not notice any change when I updated the iPad 2.

You should know some people had terrible issues updating to 5.1 like drop calls, can not find network terrible battery life and all that jazz. I was a bit worried about updating but it worked out for me.

Has anyone had any issues with podcasts? I have some of the DJ Grind ones on my iPhone, and before the OS upgrade I could see the track listings. Now with 5.1, all they come up are "Chapter <#>". It seems like it's an issue with some users out there.

Still, overall I've noticed not much of a difference.

No problems so far with 5.1 at all on an iPhone 4S and a 4. Arrival of the New iPad with 5.1 is about 2 weeks. I already hear of a problem that the iPad doesn't recharge if a processor-intensive app is running, not sure if that's an iOS 5.1 or hardware issue.
