or are the forums getting boring?

When I had hotflashes I would sometimes have to ask if it was me or was the room hot. Now as I transition off of my meds, I need to do a reality check.

Is it me or are the forums declining in their appeal? Some of the topics seem really weird for a health and fitness site, like stealing underwear and running naked in hotels. I dont expect every topic to be a philosophical discussion, but c'mon. Or is it just me?

Not so much your imagination, Cas, but RJ ebbs and flows. I'm thankful for the occasional string of boredom, cuz it means I get more done with less distraction at work. I'm the king of multitasking, but even I have my limits!

    Hey Caslon4000,

We're 3 days new here and find the topics as varied as can be. Realjock does say it's about gay fitness, health and life, and stealing underwear and running naked through hotels would certainly fit into the life department, though certainly not either of ours (as in meninlove).

Personally, I (Doug) think it's great that this site's not just about fitness. Why? Because it proves two dimensional prejudiced attitudes about muscle-y gay guys are all wrong!

    ....and that's a good thing.

Well there are only so many topics one can talk about I guess, but I missed the running naked in hotels thread! RJ is still more interesting then other forums. AfterElton has gotten a bit boring (how often can people talk about "As The World Turns") so I don't go there much anymore. The MYSpace and Facebook forums seem to attract really rude commentators who like nothing better then to insult people.

I find that some of the forum topics are getting kind of repetitive, one of these days I am going to do a review of what the favourite topics are. I suspect they have to do with relationships, anal sex, and coming out, but I could be wrong.

BTW I think ShawnTX is still posting, but his job his keeping him busy I guess. He is also enjoying the social life of a big new city.

I think I have just had my fill of "personal drama" stories. I need to chill about that and realize others are in different stages of their lives and these are hot topics for them.

But a few topics seem to be just thinly veiled solicitations for personal porn stories with no socially redeeming value. But then maybe others are just interested in seeing how common their predilections are.

I have just noticed that I cant even get up enough interest to search out an LOLcat pic (First one to say that's a good thing, get a cat pic! ... icon_evil.gif )

My interests seem to have moved on to nutrition, so it could be just me. .... I should post what I learned about copper and its benefits for skin and joints.

It may be a combination of both. I think the topics sometimes vary and can more or less interesting, but I think, like anything, answering threads can get a little old.

No doubt they will spice up...

I think the typical RJ forum cycle goes something like this: interesting -> incendiary -> butterflies and popcorn and silly trifles -> ho-hum -> interesting -> incendiary...and repeat.

Interesting topics naturally draw passion, passion escalates to forum violence, forum violence draws a reactive denouement of trifling topics meant to defuse or tiptoe around the explosive mayhem, and silly trifles sputter out into boring inanity. The cycle repeats when someone says something interesting.

What a mouthful. I feel like Yoda right now.

I dont know about copper serum. I just got off on a tangent reading about needing a surfeit of copper in the diet to make the extracellular links in collagen and lignin(?) to maintain the skin and joints. Kinda like if you wanna keep your face pretty and your joints from wearing out.

What are you talking about Cas icon_question.gif My goatee thread has been nominated for best RJ thread ever. Although I realise it has been nominated because of all the photoshopped images of me, and most of them are making fun of me icon_lol.gif

    Are you KIDDING ME!?

The one person universaly known for spicing up every forum in existence with an entertaining (annoying, but entertaining) picture of a cat doing something ridiculous... saying the threads are losing interest?

Thats like a narcoleptic not being able to sleep, or a kid with ADD being too tired to move after eating pixie stix.

Come on man, you know its just a temporary lull... things will be interesting again soon, Im sure.

Just seems like summer to me. Lots of people are off doing this and that. Things go through cycles, lunar cycles, bicycles, menstrual cycles, rinse cycles, etc.
