So I had a tonsillectomy 7-8 days ago now... which has been a pretty rough experience. I've lost about 10 pounds... 10 pounds which, I didn't even know I HAD to lose. All because I can barely eat anything. Taking in probably 600-1000 cals a day so far. It's truly awful. I tried drinking boost but it burns....

Really frustrated because I see so much of my "progress" gone in such a short span of time. I went out and bought weight gainer, in hopes that I can gain it back quickly once I recover.

Muscle memory? Any recommendations for getting back to my old self ASAP? Just really pushing myself at the gym and EATING insane amounts of food? What's the deal with creatine and caseine and all that?

Easily gaining weight or not is kind of a hard-wired burden each body has. If I breathe funny up 15 lbs I go.

i have a strep throat right now and I am going thru the same thing. Lost a lot of strength, but if you train regularly then it should only take you 3-4 weeks to fully recover.

enjoy all the icecream, pudding, jello, cheesecake while you still can. should jump start your metabolism as well.

Don't be desperate to regain your previous weight. You'll either hurt yourself in the gym, or gain too much weight as fat.

Ease into your workout routine. Maybe consider doing pyramid sets for the first few weeks. Save the carbs for before and after your workouts. After your throat is healed up, you can try to consume additional carbs during the day.

Two weeks in hospital and lost 22lbs. It sucked.
