Do straight people scare you?

My professor keeps saying this and I'm wondering if its a common thing.

Not really scared in the sense that they're going to hurt you, but just that you don't know what they are going to do.

I think I noticed some of this in myself last night. I went with my friend who was one of the best dressed and looking girls in the place, so she was getting a lot of bro (NJ Guido - Jersey Shore) attention and I felt compelled to keep tabs on her and make sure she was okay. Whereas if she was a lesbian, I would not feel the same way around other lesbians.

    Is it just misplaced trust?

No not misplaced. Guys don't trust other men, because we know how much of a dog we can be. Of course I wouldn't mind a chick hitting on someone, but when a guy does it we are aggressive and can not read the signs sometimes. My straight friends do it with me at gay venues. It has nothing to do with the friend, but the fact that she is attracting men.

    No. I scare straight people.

I represent something dangerous. Sex without procreation. A life outside of the ancient societal gender roles.

Not scare, but they definitely make me more aware and on guard.

I have been to too many straight bars and clubs and seen fights break out. Hell I went to an 18 and up club on 6th St. with my friend and her younger sister (she was 19) for Halloween. Three fights broke out. I looked at my friend and smdh.

Not really, but those that do frighten me vote Republican, live in trailer parks, fly Confederate flags and burn crosses for the hell of it.

Hmmmm....sounds like rural Florida to me.......

It's curious actually. I'm not afraid of them, but I don't feel I hold any power over them (which I actually do when I'm around other gay men). So I do have a wall up with straight men.

I'm not really scared of straight people. I'm bisexual, so maybe it's different for me.

The only way I've ever scared a religious person was threatening to "out" him if he pissed me off. icon_lol.gif

No. Only mean spirited, evil, vindictive, empty hearted, cold, venomous, dramatic, conspiracy and story spinning females do!

I've scared them by openly speaking about what we have in common.

Here's an example. When I've been asked, "Are you a Christian?"
My response has been, "Well, I think I am, but only God can make that judgement for sure. Right?"
You should see the amazed looks of the faces. The conversation usually changes.

While in Peoria on my last day, a man in my class invited me to lunch. He had been the curmudgeon in the class. I was a bit surprised by the invitation. He said that he was moved to treat me to a hot lunch after hearing my stories of the "vow of poverty" which has necessitated my eating raw oatmeal, nuts, dried fruit, protein powder, with cold coffee mixed in for just about every day for breakfast for the past 16 months.
During lunch he asked me if I died right now and were standing before Jesus, what would I say?
I looked him square in the eyes and responded without hesitation, "Thank you for the sacrifice which you made for me, for all who ever lived, and for all who are yet to come. Is there anything I can do for you?"
The man started to cry right there at the table at Old Chicago Pizza. He apologized for asking because he was not sure if I was "saved".
I smiled and thanked him for being bold in his faith, assured him that I am "saved" and that he had nothing to apologize for.

I am not a religious man. However, I am a man who is deeply spiritual and moved to action by my spirit.

No... straight people don't scare me. But I frequently go out with one of my straight girlfriends to the gay bars...and we enjoy acting out together and being overtly sexual....because the guys know I'm gay and we both enjoy making them uncomfortable. Now go have your professor develop a theory for that ;)
