Ohh man I remember this! It was always on during Saved By The Bell when we used to watch it right before the bus came! (I was actually hoping this was what this thread was about when I read the title)

    Good advice, though.

I'm pleasantly surprised at the cadential harmony they chose at the end for the music score.

IT'S A PLAGAL CADENCE THAT'S WHY. God I swear it had been gnawing at me all day. /fomermusicnerd

edit- That or a deceptive plagal. I don't have an instrument to double check, but there's def a 4-3 resolution in there.

Oh geez, music theory nerds! Interestingly, I didn't hear a plagal cadence...I heard a perfect authentic cadence, V to I motion with the top and bottom voices ending on Do.

It's the way too overpowering 7th in the dominant chord resolving to the Mi that throws me off. All I hear at the end is Fa Mi Fa Mi A-MEN A-MEN.

Yep, that happens. It's a very powerful perfect authentic cadence, the seventh in the V7 chord gives it a much stronger tendency to resolve to the stability of the I chord. Ideal for closing an independent section or even a whole piece.
