Use enough lube, you won't need to worry about the brakes. icon_razz.gif

I actually get alot of adverts from some of my parts suppliers sometimes when i've been browsing catalogs too much. I'd much rather stare at an MP-62 bolted to the side of a BP block than some twinky wearing odd sunglasses.

I keep getting uniformdating.com ads. It has taken me 25 years to get out of one uniform. I do not need to get into another.

Once again the Internet proves itself beyond the comprehension of its users.

These questions come up at least once a month, asking others' opinions of a particular ad, or asking how RJ could show such and such an ad.

In the 21st century, everyone is served unique streams of ads, based on a variety of inputs. This is a multi hundred billion dollar business. It means that old 20th century notions that other people see the same ads as you have not been valid for a very long time now.

It also means that RJ or any other site, or in fact, any human, will have nothing to do with selecting those ads, which are done by a massive compute farm in the cloud, trying to maximize the effectiveness of each ad.

But people still persist with 20th century notions of how these things work. I suspect that as the Internet gets smarter and smarter, it will leave more and more people in the dark about what is happening to them.

Many ads show up based on searches you've done on your computer.

Har Har. I haven't done any searches for twinks or jeans, ever. Still see those adds.

Well, I like them better than the ads for the cougar site....icon_rolleyes.gif

It's probably because of all the jeans threads we've had here in the forums. icon_rolleyes.gificon_lol.gif
