I've never seen it before in my hair but only just realized when someone playfully ruffled my hair, these white flakes were coming out of my head. Is there a way to get rid of it forever? It's really annoying and embarrassing!

Do those get rid of it forever? Or do I have to keep applying it?

Head and Shoulders (or the generic brands). It really works. It's NOT permanent though. Use it a few times a week and you should be fine.

Head and shoulders worked for me and I tried everything before using it.. Even tar shampoo - so gross.

My derma also advised me to shower in water that isnt too warm. I foeget why but it worked. As cold as you're comfortable with.

Showering in scorching hot water is bad for you, in general. Nobody's going to eat you (hopefully) so you don't need to be boiled.

I have often heard that it is a good idea to bounce between a variety of shampoos. I use Whole Foods house brand shampoo for everyday; it's $5 for a pretty big bottle and very mild, and it doesn't contain sodium laurel sulfate, an ingredient in the vast majority of skin and hair products which many scientists now say may be harmful. When I feel like I need a deeper clean, I use something a little stronger (Body Shop used to make a great cobalt-blue shampoo, which I am rationing my last few bottles of) including a dandruff shampoo. But I wouldn't use that everyday.
