I wanted to be a garbage collector when I was young. They would come around 7 am twice weekly; I would always stand there waving at them. I never watched cartoons because I was afraid I would miss them.

Of course, there are the small disappointments that come with life and I am not a garbage collector but most of the big dreams did come true: I have a job I like, a family, a home. It is enough and I am content.

What did you want to do?

When I was little I asks my daddy I says daddy, which kind of doctor makes the most money, and he's like hmmm, maybe a neurosurgeon or a cardiologist, so I was like OK I want to be a neurosurgeon =D And that's what I told people I wanted to be for like the next 10 years. People were all wow so you're really interested in operating on the brain icon_biggrin.gif And I was like uh huh sure whatever.

Then someone told it was like 14 years of school AFTER High School and I'm like wtf fuck that!

I have had a variety of things I've wanted to do, but being self employed (and thus running my show) has ranked from the beginning....

    Some dreams do come true!

I wanted to be an actor or a comic artist/cartoonist. Still working on the art more than the acting although I was an extra in a Meryl Streep/Tommy Lee Jones movie that's coming out this August called Great Hope Springs, so maybe I'll get bit by the acting bug again.

When I was little I was always interested in building things - especially houses. I thought I would become a residential architect or perhaps an engineer. I ended up becoming a dentist! icon_biggrin.gif

I wanted to be a pilot and live in Miami.

    Mission accomplished. icon_cool.gif

BTW, I'm only in Arizona on a contract with my job back home in Miami. Once the contract is done, I'll move back there.

It might sound strange but I never knew what I wanted to be when I was a kid.

My parents wanted me to be a doctor so that's what I told everyone I wanted to be but I really didn't care too much one way or another. I just wanted to watch cartoons and play.

If you ask me today at 28 years old now, I hope to one day become a military scientist and/or doctor.

I knew I wanted to become a teacher when I was in third grade. I loved my teacher that year. She was like a second mom to me and I loved the way she always made me feel like I was important. Since then I've always wanted to make others feel like they were important, so teaching is the perfect job for me. It has enriched my life in so many ways and I couldn't think of what my life would be like had I decided not to teach.

The idea of me being anything famous is "silly". I struggled with letting go of those teenager dreams until my mid 20's when I got to play the role of stay at home boyfriend, with a part time job. Think it all stems from my appreciation for art and my innate ability to get lost in all artistic mediums as an observer and in some ways performer.... I've had very few friends who were artists; though the I worship the ground they walk on...

When I was younger I always thought I was going to be an actor too. When I was a kid, I did a lot of commercials and I never had problems getting parts. That was because I grew up in the Philippines where if you were part white, you were in bigger demand. I doubt I was talented, but being 3/4 caucasian and 1/4 filipino made it easier to get roles. Anyway, since I had it easy, I always thought it was as simple as moving to Hollywood, doing an audition and getting the job haha. Stupid child icon_razz.gif

Anyway, fast forward later, my "career" doing commercials stopped when I wasn't cute anymore icon_mad.gif I'm pretty good at math, so I chose finance.

When I was a kid I thought about being a priest (raised catholic) or a mason. After in college I thought I might like to be a diplomat or own a bar.

In reality I became a tattoo artist and am working on my PhD. in political science (hoping to teach next).

So, no, I would not have predicted where I actually ended up.

I was a pretty confused little kid. My business plan wasn't too clear, but it had something do do with emulating Lloyd Bridges from Sea Hunt, Mr. Spock from Star Trek, and... well, Batman. Strangely enough, it sort of worked out.

I really wanted to be Batman when I was a little kid. Always wanted to do something where I'd be helping people. And now I'm a cop.
